Course Curriculum Overview :

Yes, they did really focus on practical learning and the course of B.tech I choose was not so impressive for me but I enjoyed the course very much. I myself did a lot of struggle and hard work.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, the college provides internships to the students. Yeah, of course, they did provide stipend but I hadn't any experience there.

Placement Experience :

Yes, the placement is nice but not to the aspects. Tata, Hyundai, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and all other tech and IT companies come there every year.

College Events :

there are many fests held here. Some of the famous event, cultural and managerial fests are TECHVAGANGA, Cliffesto, Etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Yes the fee is a little high but it was affordable for me, and It does know that some of the students are facing difficulties in paying the fee.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, the college provides the scholarships to the brightest students every year, those who secure a good academic result.No loan is given to the students.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes, the hostel is nice but not perfect. The rooms are single and as well as double. Usually, the seniors get to live in the single rooms and the juniors they share with one.

External Expense : Rs.7000 - Rs.10000

Alumni/Alumna :

yes, there is a strong alumni network, some alumni come by and provide their quality experiences.

Faculty :

The faculty is nice there, they really struggle hard to give students what they know. I had the best experience there with the teachers and the faculties.

AN OVERVIEW OF THE PROS AND CONS OF GCET,JAMMU

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Just one company visits and that too isn't up to the mark.Its PISOFT. The highest average package in our campus was 6lpa earlier. Now that also doesn't exist.We have to go for off-campus placement. Only 4 students out of a batch of 63 students. After getting the degree.I will apply in a company for a job via off-campus placement.

Entrance Preview:

AIEEE, had state rank 146 and All India Rank 35056. Well I am a native of Jammu & Kashmir and I like the environment and weather here. Also it has the oldest civil engineering courses in India with one of the best faculty. I always aspired to be a structural engineer and certainly I learned a lot from my experience in this college.

Admission:

I gave exam in Srinagar only on a beautiful Sunday. The paper went well and besides I gave B arch exam also. The whole admission process was smooth and faced no hurdles. Got my seat allotted in civil engineering department and administration was cooperative. I got the form from NIT only, I filled it and then got it speed post/courier and got my admit card downloaded online.
