Entrance Preview :
SMVDU is highly technical autonomous institute and fully residential University. It is a centrally funded institute with well-equipped labs and a great set of infrastructure. It is situated in foothills of Trikuta Hills with natural beauty with a highly clean and healthy environment. It is among few colleges or universities other than IITs and NITS in which admission is processed through JEE main in every round (before spot round) of the counseling process. It got selected in 4th round of counseling process.
Course Curriculum Overview :
We had been given a course curriculum of the whole B.Tech course during the start of the admission process along with Prospectus, which includes all the details of courses, their credit in the corresponding semester and books to be followed and other required information. Before the start of the semester, we had been given all the required books for that semester. For more information, we had been given a white card to get max. 4 books from the library at any time for 30 days, after that we need to submit that book and again re-issue the books. Classrooms are well equipped with a projector and other digital facilities.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, My college provides internship to those who are not able to get it on their own. Since, we are able to get an internship with our own effort, so college did not play a vital role in this.
Placement Experience :
College is responsible for placing all their students. There is very less chance of failures in this subject. We had been given quite good no. of job opportunities. In 2012 we all batchement got placed in different companies. Many were placed in IT companies like TCS, Wipro and networking company like Orange Business. We were quite satisfied and happy. Though initially, we were not given huge packages, that but yes that was satisfactory.
College Events :
Culture Fest.- Resurgence Technical Fest.-Titiksha Management Fest.-Tatva Annual Sports Fest.-Sarang and others fest. Resurgence festival is a great asset to our college. It's a cultural festival which includes different types of the skit, dance, singing, fashion show, instruments competition. Titiksha is fully technical festival includes different types of robotics, Hacking, and other competition.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure during my stay at college: Tuition Fee: 60 k per annum Hostel Fee: 15k per annum (single bed) Mess Fee: 23k per annum Annual Fee: abt 10k per annum. The fee is quite affordable for even middle-class family. For 15k per annum, we have been given single room for a year. Mess fee is quite low as per the facilities and menu being served.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes, tuition fee waiver scholarship. No Loan facility. The total fee of a semester will be waived if a student will be topped in the semester. The 2nd topper would get their tuition fee waived by 75% and the third topper would get a 50% discount on tuition fee next semester and so on. This facility would be availed to only 10% of class strength.
Campus Life :
Campus life is most favorable for all. No harassment for even new joiner. It includes students from all parts of India. The gender ratio is quite appreciable. Zero tolerance to Ragging in our whole campus. Equal opportunities for all. We have well-equipped labs facilities. Different types of indoor and outdoor games are being played here. Separate ground for cricket, football are available. We have also ground for Basketball, Kabbadi, Kho-kho and other outdoor games. Indoor games like BADMINTON, TT and other games are playable in our campus
Hostel Facilities :
I was well satisfied with facilities and menu being served in the mess and hostel facilities. The hostel is fully cleaned well maintained and equipped with LAN, Wi-fi, indoor games, TV, dining hall, and other required facilities. It's the hygienic environment and has a good number of facilitator that includes care-taker, cleaning staffs to keep it healthy and hygienic always.
Alumni/Alumna :
We have a good network of alumni and its huge impact on guidance and its like torch bearer. They always help and guide the juniors, either in getting new jobs or in higher educations.
Exam Structure :
Each semester constitutes 3 exams: 2 minor (20 marks each subject) and 1 major exam(50 marks each subject) and 10 marks are based on performance in Viva and assignments. We have enough time and space to prepare for exams, we have a library to prepare for the same. We had labs exams at the end of final exam followed by viva and Group discussion. Labs exam also credit to overall semester results.
Admission :
My AIR was about 29k and I got a call to attend for admission after the 4th round of the counseling process in 2012. As the central counseling board chosen a seat for me in college, I reached there. I liked the infrastructure and locations and also its fee structure (about 1 lac per year including tuition fees, hostel fees, and Mess fee). After a normal process of document verification and deposition of the fee, I finally get admitted. I had been assigned a double-bed room in a hostel.
Faculty :
As they were much helpful and accessible and We could contact them by their email or mobile phones. They provide extra help if required in form of notes or PPT or verbally. we could even reach them to their home as well as college is fully residential so, all college faculties lived in the college campus. They are 24*7 available for us. We feel free to reach them at any time. We feel pretty comfortable and their approaches and noble behavior was a great asset for us.
