Remarks :
IIIT Allahabad is a great college to join in but is totally inclined towards IT and ECE field. The scope of a child imroving in other field such as designing is a bit difficult but can be achieved with dedication.
Entrance Preview :
I basically attempted every entrace exam so that I get used to the exam scenes before JEE advanced which was my main focus. My scored were Jee mains - 206 Emacet telangana - 122 Bitsat-290 Gitam- 192 Etc. I couldn't score well in advanced so had to use jee main rank to select a college. I opted IIIT Allahabad because of its student culture, the professors and the placement status.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course structure of IIIT Allahabad is really amazing and specified to the most important subjects. We have core subjects right from first year unlike other colleges. They do not focus much on the subjects which aren't required. We have optional courses from 5th semester onwards which help the student to study what he/she is interested in.
Internships Opportunities :
Yes, our college provides internships. They provide campus interviews after 2nd year for an internship in 3rd year. The companies in which people get interns are huge MNC's. They also help in getting research interns across the globe. The stipend starts from 10,000 to 30,000 in the big companies which also provide pre-placement offers.
Placement Experience :
The placements at our college are great. We have a record of a hundred percent placement till now since the beginning of our college. Companies such as Google, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs etc., take in students from our college. The average salary was about 12 lacs.
College Events :
The events in our college are huge. Effervescence, the cultural fest is the second biggest fest in Uttar pradesh and has a participation of about 15k people. It is an amazing time of three days. The other fests are aparoksha, technical fest and asmita, sports fest which have a participation of 8k and 3k approximately.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is designed by the government. It has been 70 thousand per semester till now. It's totally worth it when compared to the things they provide. In 70 thousand, 55 goes for the tuiton and other fee's and 15 thousand is for mess. The food they provide is classy too.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is a loan facility for SC/ST students. A scholarship of 35-40 thousand is given to the merit students.
Campus Life :
The campus life is amazing. Though its a small campus, it is a beautiful one. There is no in time for us whcih means we can roam around in campus till morning unlike msot of the colleges. The gender ratio is nearly 1:5. There is no tolerance regarding issues based on caste, religion or gender. The cultural. Societies are amazing too. We have a student body, gymkhana which looks after every problem.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facilities are standard. We have sharing rooms till 2nd year and single after 2nd year. The cost of a double room is 5000 nearly which is included in the 55 thousand and is 10 thousand for single rooms. The food is really good and there is a mess comittee which over looks the food.
Alumni/Alumna :
The alumni network hasn't been great in the previous years but has been improving a lot since last year. The alumni meet conducted every year helps the student studying to meet the well settles alumni and get help from them.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure in our college is very organised. The exams and the labs are alloted certains days with sufficient amout of time to prepare for them. Soemtimes due to some problems, it becomes hectic but 99% of the times, the exams are given proper gaps giving students some time to chill out too.
Admission :
I got admission into btech course of IT in IIIT Allahabad throught my JEE mains score. The whole process was according to the JOSAA's counselling procedure. They provide a step by step procedure for students to understand better though. So after getting a rank, we proceed with the counselling and then we get alloted into a particular college, IIIT Allahabad in my case.
Faculty :
The faculty of the college is highly qualified. Every professor who teaches has a doctorate and are highly experienced. They are polite and clarify even the silliest doubts. They are a great help during mini projects and major projects. We have an option of going to their offices and sit down for a long time and clear our doubts.
