Course Curriculum Overview :
Electrical Engineering plays a vital role if u are looking placements as it's the part of the circuital branch students of this degree can take part in both type of companies core and IT . so it makes the most amount of opportunities to sit for companies . Apart from thisnthe syllabus is quite good it includes the electrical engineering syllabus as well as some good subjects of power electronics and microprocessors . The practical lab is also quite good to perform and learn apart from few measuring equipments .
Internships Opportunities :
Some of the major companies come for internship in the 3rd year of Btech such as Microsoft,Jpmc, Samsung Rnd, NatWest, Accenture, Bajaj , Reliance etc .. Basically companies of IT domain asks for DSA. 2 major projects it could be of web development Ml or hardware whichever like it should suit the job profile of that domain . Apart from these basic aptitude and reasoning is helpful. Work on your communication skills and listening skills to give your best interview . Do remember to do practice and mock
Placement Experience :
The placement rate of Nit Durgapur is quite good . As of now 2024 due to recession there is decline in the offers and their packages but it could go worse . Around 900 students are there in a batch of BTech in which placement percentage varies dept wise . CSE has 80 percentage, Ece has 65 percentage electrical has 75 percentage and rest of the dept have nearly 50 to 70 percentage . You can get a overview through placement stats of Nit Durgapur form the college website.highest package is of 54 lpa from Microsoft and average Is around 10lpa . After getting placement or in final year mot of the students go for GATE , CAT for further studies or go for these jobs .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure is standard according to the category the fees structure is applied . Parents with income less than 5 lpa , SC , ST have tution fee Rs25000 per semester. And above 8 Lpa tution fee is rs 70k to 80k per semester. About scholarship you can have an idea by visiting the notice board or notification board at college website.
Campus Life :
Overall campus life is good . As you get various opportunities to show case and sharp your social , verbal and technical skills through club and their events. Mainly our clg hosts 3 fest ,the first one is AAROHAN - second largest Techno-Management fest in East India this is held during March start of the even sem , the second one is cultural fest REXCSTECY which is held after AAROHAN in April even semester and the last is a cultural event VIRASAT to showcase the Bengali culture with many events and sponsored guests of classical. The college provide with library with necessary books and wifi to study . recent infrastructure is Bieng developed in the campus which increases the quality of teaching . Fir sports the college is highly active to participate in INTERNIT TOURNAMENTS and Interhall leagues . Apart from this the department have their own societies to host events within the department .So with these many things u would get nice opportunities to connect and grow as an individual.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels in Nit Durgapur are self sufficient . The rooms are alloted with 2 3 members per room as for final yrs the rooms are expected to be single rooms but due to some issues they are not provided from past 2 yrs . Another issue in the hostels are the wifi connection nd data speed . These are very limited and lags sometimes at a very crucial periods for which college is trying to upgrade . But it will take few years . The mess food are okay . Not so bad but not so good too the menu is Bieng decided by the hostel committee in which representatives of all part of India are choosen . So the menu is well distributed in this contact.
Admission :
To opt for Electrical engineering at National Institute of Technology Durgapur the Eligibility: A pass in Class 12 (Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology as an optional subject) with at least 75% aggregate is required to apply for NIT Durgapur BTech programme with score card of Joint Entrance Examination . Register in councelling that starts from JOSAA , CSAB , CSAB NEUT , Supernumerary round for reservation all details can be avail from their respective sites with documents required and notification.
