College life at Government Engineering College

Dislikes

  • Campus placement - Placement ratio and average package is very bad.
  • Faculties - Some faculties are very bad at teaching.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I selected this course because IT sector is in demand today and in future also. There is 1 faculty for almost 80 students per subject. Faculties are good and well experienced in their respective field. Most of the faculties have completed Ph.D or M.tech. Some faculties are very good at teaching but some are poor and lazy. The 2 semester exams are conducted by University in a year. The exams are easy to pass.

Internships Opportunities :

The college has the CIIIT (Center for Invention, Innovation, Incubation and Training) from TATA Technologies but they take fees from the student for this internship. This internship provides real life projects that gives students an industry experience.

Placement Experience :

The students are eligible for campus placements at the end of 6th semester. The companies come to this college are tcs, infosys, wipro, dhoot transmission, tech mahindra, etc. The highest package offered is 10LPA and average package is 3LPA. Almost 40% of the students from the branches other than Civil are getting placed. My plan is to do job after I will get the degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly fees of this college for general category students is almost 25000 which is very less as compared to other engineering colleges. The college also offers all the government scholarships. The campus is not so good for Civil engineers because hardly 2-3 students get placement and it is average for other branches with placement percentage of 40%. The highest package is 10LPA till now.

Campus Life :

Many events are conducted throughout the year like annual gathering, sports, tech fest. in the January or February. The college has a big library of books and all practical labs. The classrooms are quite good and have the required things. Sports and other extra curricular activities are enjoyable and quite good.

Hostel Facilities :

The college has the separate governmet hostel for boys and girls. The hostel rooms are quite big and have the necessary equipments but the hostel does not have its own mess. The outside mess does not provide good quality meal and that's the big problem. The hostel is having a yearly fees of 4500 and the registration process is easy.

Admission :

To take admission in this college, you must have completed 12th or diploma. If you have completed 12th then you have to give an entrance exam called CET (common entrance test). You will find the details of this exam on the official website cetcell.mahacet.org. You can also take the admission through JEE (joint entrance exam) which will have very few seats. The other option is Diploma. If you have completed diploma in engineering then you can take adimission for Direct Second Year. This college have all reservation benefits for adimission.

Talking about placements, most of the placements occurs in CSE and IT branch, but surprisingly in the Government College of Engineering Aurangabad, the Mechanical branch has the same placements comparatively just the fact is that the package is less.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Placement Experience:

Students are encouraged to take internships from the moment they are confident and can handle responsibility. They are eligible for placements after semester 4. Approximately 60+ companies visit the campus every year and they take an average of 4-5 offers. For instance, the highest package can be 40+lpa from Microsoft. 90-100% placements happen every year. My plan after getting the degree is to acquire a placement and work with the organization.

Remarks:

The college Bajaj Institute of Technology, Wardha is very reputed college as it is Shiksha Mandal's college. I saw many advertisement about this college throughout the year and that's why choose to take admission in it.

Placement Experience:

Till now no company has visited. 2 students are selected and that is with their own efforts. Not having any job referral because hardly few students are placed. In startup one group won the hackathon and I guess they are doing their startup thing
