The friend circle, being around one of the smartest brains in the world.
The labs and other educational facilities, the instruments and lab equipments are one of the best in the nation.

Dislikes

The academic load due to exams and class test which are held every other day

Course Curriculum Overview :

IIT Kharagpur CSE is one of the best Engineering courses in the nation. Faculties are really nice and they are easily approachable to solve doubts. The faculties are really knowledegeable and can teach really nice. Exams are conducted twice eache semester allong with class tests, the exams are moderate, studying all the slides and previous year questions are most of the times enough to solve all the question.

Class Size : 1958Course Fees : INR 98000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Internship opportunites are offered to 3rd year students at the begining of 5th year and is a compulsory requirement at IIT Kharagpur. You can work under professors projects or go to other companies for internships.

Placement Experience :

IIT Kharagpur offers placement for 4th year students at the end of 7th sem. A lot of well known companies like Meta, Apple, Amazon, Google visits the campus for providing placements to students in software roles. Manay core companies like L&T, Texas instruments also visits the campus for placements.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are taken twice every year at the begining of every semester. The tution fees is 1,00,000 rupeees per sem along with that addition fees of 40,000 to 50,000 for hostel and mess charges. All SC/ST get 100% on tution fees. GEN-EWS OBC gets 50% off on scholaraships. There is Merit Cum Scholarship provided to students by the institute.

Campus Life :

Campus life at IIT Kharagpur is really nice. Instead of being in a mega city its located in a village. So clubs are replace by tea stalls and small resturants. Annual socio-cultural fest Spring Fest and techno-management fest Kshitij are held in the month of January. A lot of books, journals, scientific papers are present in the library as hard copy as well soft copy in the digitial library. There is tata steel ground which is made of 2 cricket fields and 2 football and there is another atheletic field in the campus.

Hostel Facilities :

In hostel triple occupancy room is provided along with a bed (Without matress and pillow) a chair and table is also provided for studeying and keeping your books. A cupboard with lock is also provided to store other essentials. Two plug points and an ethernet jack is provided to every student. Meal in the mess is okayish, mess menu changes every other month.

Hostel Fee : INR 20000 per year

Admission :

Admission to II Kharagpur takes place in three step first is the JEE Mains in which you need to get at least 90%ile to become eligible to give JEE Advance and then you qualify JEE Advance with a minimum marks of 86(Adv 2023) to become eligible for IIT Counselling.

Review on Guru Nanak Institute of Technology from one year of college experience

Placement Experience:

Recession is going on since last few years and being a private college obviously that has affected placements in our college also. The current situation of placement is not really good. Among students from all branches which each may have like 150 students, only 20 something got placed on campus. It is said that companies like TCS, Capegemini, Wipro, Amazon, Zscaler etc comes to campus for hiring but most just come and don't hire. This year highest package was 26.5 lakhs by only 2 students from our department, CSE.

Total 51 oncampus companies came last year. Highest package- 32lpa Avg package- 11.47lpa Last year placement percentage was 88.9% My plans after the degree are higher studies and masters.
