Likes

The hostels are comfortable and nice. The hostel process is good.
The mess food is good ! And they act on reviews
The social life at Patiala overall is quiet good.

Dislikes

Obviously the 75% attendance system is little tiring.
At times few semester can be overwhelming.
The in time is quiet strict in my opinion.

I chose this course because of my interest in electronics and my college provides good opportunity bases on my interest. The faculty to student ratio is little less but they always put best efforts to clear doubts. Teachers r well qualified to teach us. Exams were on time and if you study you can pass

Internships Opportunities

College does provide good internship opportunities. Most top companies visit. It's all about you and how you prepare. In colleges it's mostly the self study you put in, which gets you jobs or internship.

Placement Experience

You are eligible for placements from 5th semester. The placement cell is good and robust ! They help you develope and be better. At the end it all boils down on your own effort and how you present yourself

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees is little on higher side, but for hostels it's actually decent because compared to other colleges the hostels are quite good! The food is good! And yes there are some fees hike depends on semester. You get financial aid we have to talk to the department

Campus Life

Classrooms are modern and equipped with projectors and Air conditioners. It is comfortable to study in as it is a good environment. The social life is pretty good ! Not strict and they let you be you. The fest and clubs are quiet good

Hostel Facilities

Hostels rooms are very good ( except for hostel j ) . The food provided is very good compared to hostels of other college! Sodexo takes care of all mess. You get your hostel based on the CGPAs but they do have hostel swap form at times.

Hostel Fee: INR 100000 per year

Admission

I didn't undergo entrance exams; instead, my selection was based on my performance in the 12th Boards. To apply, I obtained the form from the official Thapar University website.

inside campus walls

Placement Experience:

from 6th semester students are leigible for placements. here lots and lots of companies visit. even all these companies dont visit every iit like d.e.shaw,jpmc , morgan stanley etc etc. well d.e.shaw didnt made offer from last 2 years to our campus but its ok there are literally 100 of companies that visit. highest package last year was 54 lakhs as sde in morgan stanley. if you belong to computer branch then placement percentage is almost 90% but for other branches its 50-60%. if i did not get the placement i will be applying for software engineer offcampus.

Life at NITJ

Placement Experience:

In starting of 7th semester... students mostly starts placing in good companies.. I don't have idea of companies visited In mechanical highest package was around 20 lpa and average was around 8 lakhs per annum..

i applied for lnmiit college jaipur . there i was expecting computer branch but did got electronics branch so i didnt went there.here in thapar it was based on jee mains percentile for addmission. computer branches were available till 89 percentile for punjab students and till 94 percentile for outside punjab students. so i had percentile of 95 so i easily got computer branch over here....Read More

Worth the Money

I applied to IGDTUW , VIT vellore and other colleges i got into both in VIT i got CS but it was too far away plus the placement percentage there is comparatively low and IGDTUW i didn't have mg prefered branch. Application form were available on thapar official website, minimum 75% required in boards for admission, there is no addmission test , the admission is on basis of jee and boards . you must have 65% in 12th to apply, application forms are released in mid april, and fees is 2500 approx. you can apply on basis of jee and 12th marks or both. reservation is given to inside punjab students which is 50%. sc/st, obc and other benefits are also given....Read More
