Thapar university (pros cons)

I chose this course as it has high career prospects, faculty:students ratio is around 1:30 over here. teachers are highly qualified, no one is below phd here. term exams are conducted after 2 months, teaching methods are decent. its not quite difficult to pass the exams, given that you give time to subjects

there are many companies for internship at thapar, jp morgan, samsung, deshaw, asian paints, adani, etc. come to provide internship to various students. stipends range from 25k per month to 70k per month

students are eleigible for campus placements after 5th semester, over 150 companies visit the campus. highest package offered is 45 lacs, and average for computer branches is 12lacs. over 94% students are well placed.

fees is approximately 30lacs for 4 years btech, including hostels. feee hike is 15% every year or 2 semesters. schoalrships are provided to students on need basis, and merit cum need basis, throughout over 4 years depending on your cgpa.

annual cultural fest held here is saturnalia, in which prominent singer comes. it is conducted in november, this time mohit chauhan came. Sports fest like Urja also happens. library is the best thing about thapar, its so huge that you will be in awe, one of the best in asia. many societies and clubs are there to keep the students busy

my room is a 4 seater room, there are total 3 hostels provided for first years, H,J,K. mine is H, and 4s non ac, bunk beds are given, and mess food is very decent on what is the price. Hostel forms come after you have taken admission here.

you must have 65% in 12th to apply, application forms are released in mid april, and fees is 2500 approx. you can apply on basis of jee and 12th marks or both. reservation is given to inside punjab students which is 50%. sc/st, obc and other benefits are also given.
