My life at IIT D

Dislikes

  • Boys is to girls ratio is disappointing, its like we have around 1 girl for every 7 boys.
  • Hectic schedule, we have classs from 9 am, someitmes even from 8am, and we are stuck till 5.00 pm.

Course Curriculum Overview :

This course builds a strong grasp over mathematical skills especially financial mathematics, which is very much essential in the present world such as in hfts, quants and stock market evaluation. Mathematics department of iit d is one of the best in our country, we have excellent professors and instructors who are well Qualified in their fields The exams were conducted well on time. Since it's Mathematics dominant branch so we have to do a course named MTL. It is considered one of the toughest courses in our college and a difficult one to pass, many students do fail because profs keep the barrier a bit too High.

Placement Experience :

Students generally sit for ppo in the 3rd year end itself. Internships start from 2nd year or mostly from mid 3rd year. The placements are good compared to all other engineering institutes in our country. A lot of mncs and multinational companies do visit like google, microsoft, deutsche bank, Fujitsu etc. Almost all the candidates get placed except for few who might not consider sitting in the placements or might prefer higher studies. The highest package received till date is around 2 crores. The avg package is around 15 to 18 LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure info is given on the iit d website. For a general candidate the total fees for 4yrs is around 8 to 9 lakhs, since I have availed the st quota, I have been granted the tuition fee relief, so I have to pay just the mess and hostel fees, which sums to around 55000 per semester and a total of around 3 lakhs in 4 yrs.

Campus Life :

The annual fest here is Rendezvous which is considered to be the largest cultural fest in north India, and it is usually held in the month of October. The tech fest is Tryst, and is held in March. Library facility is excellent it had ample quantity of books and journals. New books and journals are added from time to time. Lecture halls and tutorial rooms are well furnished, with proper lighting. We have a great hostel culture Every year we fight for the gc trophy. Sports and extracurricular are given a lot of importance here. Many clubs and groups are run by students like the debsoc, Astronomy club, dance club, music club etc.

Hostel Facilities :

It depends. The newer hostels are bit more luxurious compared to the older ones . I reside in the Jwalamukhi hostel, one of the oldest hostels in iit d. The rooms are small for 3 persons, the furniture and washroom facilities are okayish. The newer hostels are well constructed with well furnished rooms and washroom facilities. Mess food varies from hostel to hostel. It's pretty decent though, night messes and canteens make up for the rest.

Admission :

Admission process was smooth, didn't really face any technical difficulty or delay, everything was well on time. IIT D website has all the info regarding the course, one can also check the josaa website for more info on cutoffs and fees I availed the ST quota. My ST rank in jee adv was 76 and crl was 8936, which was sufficient for getting me a seat in Mathematics and Computing.

Placement Experience:

Placements are going abyssmal recently. due to sudden hike in number of students and the recession going on, there is utter discomfort among students regarding the placement season. most companies do visit the campus, but theyjust take 2 or 3 students and leave. the packages are pretty good, but only few people get to bag those. so at the end of season, there is a few population placed in good companies, and a big population left unemployed.

Good placement opportunities student can sit for placement from 7th semester companies will come. Avg package for cse/IT is around 7 lpa and for ece is 4-5 lpa. No good internship opportunities on campus you have to try off campus. Top recruiters are zomato, chayos, amazon, zs associates, josh technology, tcs, juapay, cvent, cognizant, yamaha and many more companies.... Highest package is 50 lpa in Microsoft and lowest is 3.5 lpa.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is okayish nor too good neither too bad the average package here is around 6 lpa which is less but some companies do come and place the students in the campus itself also the network of alumni is good they also apply for offcampus placement and try build a network for the juniors. We often get internship notification from our seniors only

Course Curriculum Overview:

DU has many reputable colleges and departments that offer high-quality education, but like any institution, there may be variations in the quality of education depending on the specific course, faculty members, resources available, and other factors. there is some frequency for exam along with your perspective on their moderate level

Placement Experience:

From 4th semester companies started hiring interns which happens incampus obviously and they also pay kind of decent stipend somewhere around 20-40k. Placements here is decent enough like if you want that 1cr package you'll have to look for off campus placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I wanted to pursue engineering and ipu has a great reputation. placements is also decent.Faculty is nice and teaching method is also nice. Student ratio is pretty bad especially in cse. There are two exams in one semester the midsem and endsem. Exams are moderately difficult. The college is also in a very lively location in Delhi and has many places for students to hang out. Faculty at msit, is well educated and best at their job of teaching, almost all the teachers are experience holders, teaching at msit. It's easy to pass the exams If you study from teachers notes because most of the questions are related to their notes in midsem and endsem. Exams are of 30 marks and 75 marks and passing marks are 12 and 30.But the cse branch is considered as top branch in the msit and is preferred over the other branches is what I have been told by the seniors. The faculty is quite qualified and know how to teach labs are also well maintained .
