- There is no bus facility in between the east and the west campus of the hbtu kanpur though it ks written in the brochure.
- The west Campus of the hbtu kanpur is literally a jungle in which the boys hostels are located.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Paint technology is quite a unique course with only few engineering institutions teaching this specified field. This made me eager to join this course. Student to faculty ratio is quite good in paint technology with teachers always helping and welcoming students to help in their doubts and gathering them with enough resources. The faculty at paint technology in hbtu kanpur is quite qualified with all faculty having a phd degree in their respective fields from renowned institutions like iit. Teachers often help in providing notes and teach their material on smart and interactive boards so that the students can understand difficult topics very easily. Term exams usually happen at a interval of around 45 days with practicals in between.
Internships Opportunities :
Many companies offer intership in the hbtu kanpur these are Asian paints ppg, maruti suzuki, tata motors and some government psus also provide intership opportunities like drdo kanpur. Companies provide intership with stipend of around 15k - 30 k per month. You have to clear the interview round and must have good grades.
Placement Experience :
The placement session starts in the end of the 3rd year is completed untill the mid of 4th year. Companies like Samsung, tcs, mahindra, bajaj, maruti suzuki, Asian paints often visit campus recruiting at least 2-3 individuals or students. The highest in the batch of 2021 was around 64 lac in the Amazon and around 18 lacs in Josh international in the year 2023. The average is around 8-8.5 lacs in college. Almost all the students can be placed by the end of the placement session but some students go for higher education or in government sector. My plan after getting a degree is get placed in good company were I can use my skills for betterment.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees at hbtu kanpur has been hiked few years before. Before that this college was best because this college provided education at a very affordable rate. But you can avail many scholarships provided by government of up and central and some private institutions like tata and reliance also provide scholarship based on your academic records. The cost to study at this college is around 2 lacs per month given that you have also opted for hostels.
Campus Life :
The life at campus is vey good because you are provided with many clubs and in between the academic year you can enjoy the annual fests. Adhayay is the annual or cultural fest at the college and technica is the technical fests. These fests usually occur in the April month of the year. The library in college has plenty of books for the students these books are also provided in the form of online material. The college has plenty of sports facilities like basketball court, cricket ground, football ground, volleyball, basketball and many other sports. There are many clubs in the college like rota for book reading calidus for personality development, sports club and many more.
Hostel Facilities :
The rooms are equipped by all necessary requirements like table, chair, fan, plenty of lightning, a cupboard for storing of your personal belongings .These facilities are available in every room. Good quality is decnt as you would expect in hostel with menu in control of the residents ie students. The registration process for the hostel can be made by official hbtu kanpur website in the hostels panel. You can also take pg or rent a room in nearby nawabganj area as it us filled by the same.
Admission :
Admissions to Harcourt Butler Technical University is carried out by the All India engineering entrance exam named as Joint Entrance Examination Mains (jee mains) You should have at least 65% in the 12th examination and must have completed your intermediate with at least physics, chemistry and maths Application forms can be found easily at hbtu's official website and are listed shortly after the jee mains examination period. The whole admission is carried out by hbtu only. Reservations are followed as prescribed by the government with at least reservations for sc, st and obc candidates. New ews reservation is also been used. Reservation is as follows as Obc 27% Sc 16% St 7.5% Ews 10% The counselling process or admission process is quite lengthy and takes days around a month to complete.
