Course Curriculum Overview :
I have chosen Electronics and Communication Engineering. Faculty to student ratio is very good at IIIT Surat because the intake of students is very balanced and you can interact easily with faculty members. Almost all faculties have done their Ph.D. from a reputed university and the teaching method purely depends upon students, the teaching method is average here. Term exams take place every 2-3 months and it is manageable to crack all the exams if you put in some hard work before the exams. Quizzes are conducted for every subjects every month which helps the students to check their intelligence about the course and can work on it if needed.
Internships Opportunities :
Internships are available from 3rd year but very less companies visit for campus internships at iiit surat. Some companies are codsoft, MathWorks, etc. Projects that most companies want are artificial intelligence and machine learning as it is a trendy topic all around the world.
Placement Experience :
Students are eligible for campus placements from 3rd year and you have to secure at least 8 cgpa to get eligible for on-campus placement. The highest package is 42 lpa and the average package is 8 lpa. Some companies that visited for placements are amazon, MathWorks, oracle, tcs, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fee structure is already mentioned on our college website and for scholarship, you have to fulfill the required criteria. College don't provide such scholarships from their end so you have to purely depend upon state scholarships. Campus placements are not going well because our placements were going on with SVNIT students but the 22 passout batch got poor placements due to shifting at our permanent campus located at Kamrej, Surat.
Campus Life :
The campus is spread over 28 acres but the college infrastructure is just built on 10 acres so campus life is boring. Going for clubs, as our administration is just separated from SVNIT, our clubs are not as active and big as other colleges. Talking about social life, our campus is located on the outskirts of Surat so there is no such place to visit nearby.
Hostel Facilities :
Our Hostel is located in Valthan which is 15 km from college so it becomes very difficult to travel daily as it takes almost 2 hours of traveling. Talking about facility provided here, mess food is hygienic compared to other colleges. Sports facilities are very poor in our hostel.
Admission :
Students have to pass an exam known as JEE Mains and a cutoff is released by the JOSAA administration body. The application form is the JOSAA counselling form which will be available on their official website. Reservation is purely based on the rules and regulations booklet which is provided by JOSAA itself so if you fulfill their criteria then you can avail the benefits. Notifications should be included as a part of the admission process by JOSAA so that students who are new to Technology can get a reminder.
