Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

I am interested in the aspects of electrical networks and transmission lines that's why I choose this course. The curriculum is not so good as the CA exams cover a lot of time which can be used for studying otherwise. The faculty members are not very friendly in my department. They do not guide us properly.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are quite acceptable for B. Tech. My total fees for 4 years is around 60000 which is very low for B.Tech. But in recent years the fees is increasing in leaps and bounds. There are facilities of scholarships like Swami Vivekananda scholarship and Oasis Scholarship for economically weak students.

Campus Life

2

The social life is not so good in my college. There are a few clubs like Photography clubs, Robotics Clubs, Eco clubs, etc. but they are not very active and appealing to the students. The fest is named ' Kristitarang 'which is pretty average. A few bands and artists are called on each year but it can be improved. The classes have full CCTV coverage but the laboratories don't have CCTV for unknown reasons and the lab lacks modern equipment.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is one of the bright aspects of this college. There are two hostels and others are under construction. There is 24×7 water available and there are few to none power cuts. The hostel is guarded by security personnel. Hygiene is maintained in the washrooms and dorms. The quality of food is not so good in the hostel it can be improved.

Admission

I took admission through WBJEE and all the details of the application process are written on the official website Students having a 10+2 degree or any equivalent degree can pursue this course. The cutoff is 18000.

From seventh or eighth semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Companies like Adobe, Trident, Siemens, Infosys have visited, and I don't know the exact number of offers as some offer gets rejected by students sometimes for a better opportunity. The highest package was 27 LPA and average package is around 4LPA-8LPA. I don't have the exact data related to the percentage of students getting placements but a rough estimate is around 50 per cent. I have plans to do higher studies and then I'll apply for any job after graduation.

Placement Experience:

Our college has a very good placement record. Almost very student gets placed every year. A student becomes eligible for getting placed to a company after he/she completes the 3rd year and steps into the 4th year. There are many popular brands like TECH MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, WIPRO, CAPGEMINI, HYUNDAI etc which are in tie up with our college. The average package provided is around 2.5-3lakhs/year. And the highest package provided is around 7-8lakhs/year. The percentage of students those who gets placed is near about to 74% every year consistently. Which is the main factor of the college's succes and top ranks. My plan is that after I complete my course within an year or so I want to join an automobile industry so that I can design and give my contribution towards the car section.
