Remarks :
So basically the college provided an all round development.the student teacher interaction was great. The professor's were mentors rather than mere teachers. I would like to be in touch with my Alma mater.
Entrance Preview :
I appeared for the JEE MAINS examinations. It is a national wide exam with more than 14 lakh people appearing for it, aspiring to enter the top technology schools in the country. The completion was immense. Accordingly, with respect to the score obtained in the exams, branches and colleges were alloted. I took up Electrical and Electronics Engineering in NIT Calicut. I had interest in Electrical subjects in my intermediate, and hence I went for the stream.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course was really extensive and focused on the theory as well as the practical aspects of the field. But on top of that real-world scenarios were also incorporated, like limited time, pressure for better performance, nurturing the juniors, etc. Many of our seniors as well as the student pursuing their masters and, doctorate were really helpful in analyzing and exploring deeper into to the problem statements. I took many courses apart for the main field too, cause in the real-life scenario there is a demand for multidisciplinary knowledge. I took embedded systems, natural language processing, quantum computations and artificial neural networks and genetic algorithms.
Internships Opportunities :
The college was helpful in getting an internship, I got to work in psu which was really interesting. I got an exposure to how the real world problem are to be dealt with. How the people manage the other work other than pure technical things
Placement Experience :
The placements were good and almost 80% of the students got placed on an average. Computer science and electronics got close to a 100 percentage placememts while the other branches followed close by.
College Events :
There were 2 fests in an academic year. Tech fest called TATHVA Cult fest called RAGAM Apart form that sports days were conducted and interNIT completions for all sprits were conducted. Otherwise vocational and extra curricular activities were also conducted
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure was affordable cause it is under govt of India affiliation. Everything inside the institute was subsidised and hence cheap for student use. The tuition fees was around 40000 per semester. And the hostel and mess fees varied access the hostels.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Yes the college provided scholarships for those students who really needed it
Campus Life :
Dance, dramatics ,mine, debate, mathematics, cultural , literary, were some of the club's. These were headed by faculty members
Hostel Facilities :
Yes, I resided in hostels for the entire duration of the course. The hostels were moderate, not very lavish like hotels. It was made for living not luxury and hence the standards. Also the hostel fees was less and hence the quality provided was justified. The cleanliness and hygiene were strictly maintained . The food was good, balanced with some perks in the extras counters to cater to the personal needs of confectionaries or other delicacies.
Alumni/Alumna :
The aluminium network is strong and interacting is based mainly on linked in
Exam Structure :
Exams were very frequent, almost 1 term test in every month. This kept learning in check and keeps the pressure maintained, cause diamonds are always created under pressure. Some days were really tiring at the end of the day because of the labs and other activities. Other days were relatively chill and students could focus on their hobbies for refreshing their minds, which is also very important
Faculty :
The faculties are good supporting and qualified. What I feel is that it is not necessary that a great student will make a great professor. Cause teaching comes with passion and an understanding to comprehend the problems faced by others which might not be very obvious. Hence such professors are needed. I found the same in my professors. They were interactive and promoted learning as a habit, which is really important for progress in any field.
