- The college is excellent when it comes to the view point,the place and the campus is very good
- There are many students from different districts and states studying together with them makes a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy my campus life
Dislikes
- There aren't much i dislike in this college,but the college don't have an elevator in the main block
- The college need to have a bit improvement when it comes to events
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is very vast you will get a good amount of time to manage your score and do your own things The curriculum will update in period of 4 yrs the last update was this year which is new 2024 scheme,which has changed the basic programming language from c programming to python for the first year's The exams has a intermediate difficulty level and it's not very tough or too easy and we get a plenty of time
Internships Opportunities :
The intership are offered by many companies like TCS , BOSCH, L&T and many more and you can earn more stipend on your internships There are many creative projects which can help you in intership and placement,the projects you do is of your choice and the college will consider your project and give you the records
Placement Experience :
The students become eligible for placement from 5th semester and there are a lot of companies which conduct placement in our college some of them are TCS ,L&T,Indian oil adani limited, J&J ,TATA ELXSI And more The average is 4 to 6 and highest is 18 LPA but there are students who got 24 to 30 LPA without college placement working your own to find a company More than 60 percentage of the students gets placed every year and the percentage is increasing yearly I'm planning to write ICRB EXAM after the degree to get into ISRO
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees for me comes around 11000 to 14000 yearly (For OBC caste reservation without e-grantz scholarship) If u have e-grantz scholarship,fee will come around 5000 to 6000 For OEC caste reservation with e-grantz the fee comes around 28000 to 30000 in which most of the money you will get from the scholarship itself AND for SC\ST the fee comes around 15000 to 23000 where if u have e-grantz u can claim an amount of 31000 to your account and pay the fee from it (Note: all categories have different fee structure) My fee structure: Special fee PD...........................370 Bus fee......................................3000 Special fee REV.........................1740 University examination fee.......2625 Tution fee...................................3150 University arts and sports fee...530 The total of 11415/- has to be paid yearly And there will be increase or decrease in the fee amount year after year E-grantz scholarship is better to lower the fee amount
Campus Life :
There is one annual and one technical fest conducted by the college and union the fest are of national level and the will be held in like January to April month there are also other fest like food fest , cultural fest ,art& sports day , ethnic day ,prom night,dj night and all The library has more than 30000 books and journals in it, we have the biggest college library which is a 4 storey building full of books Every class has projectors smart TV's and presentation table and more There is a more to say when it comes to sports the GCE kannur has best sports players and athletes GCE kannur gives its best to come in the first place in every sports and one of the main is basket ball ,GCE kannur conducts an arts and sports day every year in it's vast ground There are many social and technical clubs in our college like ISTE , IEEE, NSS, NCC , SHE GCEK, SAE , IEDC, CALYPSO etc .. And all clubs are maintained by the students in GCEK
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel room can accommodate three people in one room which has three bed and three lockers for the roomies All the good or made in hostel mess and it taste very good like the homely foods the menu has veg and non veg options, there is no limit in eating and there is tea and snacks in evening The hostel fee is according to your stay and it doesn't exceed more than 4000 per month There are many PG options if you didn't get the hostel and PG comes around 5000 to 6000 per month
Admission :
The college is merit based admission college, to get admission in this college you have to write an entrance exam which is KEAM and I have a rank of 16000 in KEAM So the college I first confirmed admission was GEC Kozhikode which was a good college but the campus was too small so there was a spot admission which was held by GCE kannur and I applied for it The admission process is managed by KEAM they give you a date to take admission and the process gets done in 2hrs you have to be physically present with your parents , The overall admission experience was smooth and well managed by the faculties
Faculty :
The faculty to student ratio is bit 3:4 , all facilities are very friendly and the all do their best to give us the best training and teaching,you can approach the faculties at any time they will be in their faculty room waiting for your approach and clear all you doubts. One the faculty I like is a mam{I can't give her name} she used to teach us life skills and professional skills she was very friendly, polite ,honest ,and listen to our perspective There is no faculty I don't like . When it comes to exams there will be 3 exams ,two of them are series exam which is considered for internal marks and the other is University end semester exam . U have to score a minimum of 35 out of 50 in internal mark (which is calculated as 10 for attendance and 15 for assignments and 25 for the series exam ).and if u have scored 35 in internal U should score 40 marks in university A total of 75 out of 150 is the pass marks. A semester is 3 or 6 months long in which odd semester are 6 months and even semester are 3 months
Interview Experience :
No there is no GD or interview you have to face to get into this college the college admission is got by writing an entrance exam KEAM in which you should come in rank below 20000 to get admission, the good rank you have you can get to your dream course
