Course Curriculum Overview :
The first year is common for all the btech and integrated msc students the full strength is divided into 8 sections and 10 practical sections. The faculty is very experienced and motivated and they put a lot of hard work into teaching students. The course at times is difficult and some courses are easy too. Although mostly the faculty is good we may find some faculty who will be very strict and some who will not teach properly.
Internships Opportunities :
There are many internship opportunities in the college mostly for third year studens .Many private companies and psus have their internship drive and the select students on the basis of CGPA for core internships and and skills for software-based, analytical and management internships. For software internships one must have a good knowledge of DSA and have some projects.
Placement Experience :
There are many opportunities for students in the college there is a placement cell that trains students to get placed and call many great companies for placements. Also, the club events build communication skills and other soft skills, and management skills which attract many companies to the campus.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
I come under the one lakh family income bracket and for me, the tuition fee is completely exempted which is a relief also the hostel and mess fees are nominal. Also if someone finds the fee to be high they can apply for many scholarships offered by the college and they can also apply for loans in the college branch many banks come to the campus during the admission procedure to provide loans to the students. Overall nit Rourkela is very affordable.
Campus Life :
Life at Nit Rourkela great there are many clubs and societies where we can participate in whatever activities we like or hobbies we have and every club have its flagship events where others can participate and check their interests. When we first come to the college every club presents itself to us through its orientation sessions and workshops. There are so many clubs and they are so good that we feel the want to join each of them.
Admission :
I applied through Jee mains percentile and got admission through csab counseling the cutoff was around 98.3 percentile for the general ews category for the electrical engineering branch. The admission process was swift before coming to the college we were told to submit the documents on nit Rourkela's website and pay the fee dues and after coming to the college we were given an empty file and were asked to arrange all the documents in that and submit it.
Other Applied Colleges
National Institute of Technology - [NITP] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
I didn't opt for this college because of the lack of opportunities, low class strength, small campus and less co curricular opportunities
