Remarks :

The campus is located in an area that is village-like with nothing around but small shops where you would even doubt eating. Not well connected to the city, you might have to spend a lot if you plan to eat out some day which, given the quality of mess food, will happen a lot to times. Transport is provided to all, so you will have to plan accordingly. Eateries aren't at all hygienic, so drop the idea of eating out everyday. Apart from location, rest is fine. You will make good memories with people who actually come from all over India.

Entrance Preview :

It was purely based on jee mains scores and jee mains rank.i got 245 marks and i have got options for bits or iiita So I took admission in IIIT as it has Better placement, Better infrastructure, better faculty. So in short good to go.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is very good and up to date with current industry requirements. Courses are similar to what are thought in computer science in colleges like IIT. Students are taught the branch related subjects from the first year itself which provides good foundation. Students also get to chose advanced courses in the final years of study as per their interests. Also, they focus on research area more.

Internships Opportunities :

Many companies cone to college for internships to offer 2 & 6 months internships to 3rd & 4th year students. General stipend ranges from 18k-55k per month.

Placement Experience :

This year's placement season was overwhelming with approximately 98.7% students getting placed through on-campus round with 23 students getting into dream job companies. The highest salary offered was 29 lpa and the average salary was higher than previous years' i.e. 10 lpa. The companies that come for placements are usually tech-based or from IT industries, like Walmart labs, Amazon.in, Flipkart, Directi, Arista, Kronos, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, etc. These companies also offered internships to third year students from IT and ECE department with an average stipend of 12k for two months and maximum offered being 20k.

College Events :

There are two major events : one technical (aparoksha) and one cultural(effervescence). The fests are getting bigger year by year but they have a lot to catch up to make it to the level of IITS. Both the events are 4 day events. One of the major events of technical festival is Al-khwarism, online annual coding event of IIIT allahabad. For the last 2 years, winners have been from Russia. So, yes the tech events are big. Cultural is still growing. Daler mehndi, Sona mohapatra, Neha Kakkar, lucky ali have been celebrtities at events in recent years. We have fashion show, dance competitions, drama events. Melodieux and many others during cultural nights. Online treasure hunts, Magnum opus(Project display), Hacking contest are majpor attractions for tech fests.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

IIIT-A is a Government Institution. Fee is fair. For my batch it was 35000/- per semester as tuition Fee and approximately 12000/- for mess and hostel charges per semester. Apart from this we have somewhere around 10000/- as charges like (Gymkhana fee, alumini fund, Medicine Fee and all other miscellaneous charges). Over all with less than 5 Lakhs, one can be an engineer.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

As far as I know, we have merit scholarships and merit cum means scholarships. Merit scholarships are given to those those students who stand in top 10 positions after each semester. Merit cum Means Scholarship are given to those who have their Grades Above than a particular cut off and their annual parental income below a particular level. I have availed the Merit Scholarships (36000 INR each semester).

Campus Life :

The Institute has eight official clubs and they all have their separate working rooms situated at the SAC, right next to the Old Canteen and the tennis court.IIIT Allahabad is abuzz with activities, various clubs like Rang Tarangani which is the Dramatics club and Ushma, the dance club. These clubs encourage students to take part in various extra-curricular activities

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facilities are good. All the students are given room on twin sharing basis. Students can also opt for single sharing by paying double the amount. There are 5 boys' hostel, on of which is newly constructed and 1 girls' hostel. Free high speed internet is also available to students in hostel. There are mess facilities in each hostel which provide good food. All the mess are also air-conditioned, so students enjoy eating food there. On few days of week food might not be good but overall its good.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, Allahabad network is big there are many alumni at good companies and good places. Because of this there was so many companies visit every year and it is increasing.

Exam Structure :

The exam structure is like having midsem and endsem. Corresponing practicals are before the theory exams. Labs are well maintained and complete campus is connected to internet. On days of lab, it is hectic else very much chilled out.

Faculty :

The faculty members are not that good considering this college is of national importance. Some professors are very good but some are below the expectations of students. But most of them are easily available and readily try to solve the problems of students. Most of the faculty members that teach B.Tech are of the post of assistant professor. They also have TAs for help. TA are from M.Tech.
