Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum is at par with any peer college. Broadly it is case study based and one thing which stands out is the term system, so at IITR, they have 8 terms in 2 years of MBA. This makes the experience a little more rigorous. Faculty: Student ratio stands at 1:3, which is probably best in academic, and apart from that each faculty is a graduate of India's best college be it an IIT or an IIM.
Internships Opportunities :
The reports for summer internships are also available on the website of the college. Regardless of that, for summer internships a lot of companies come to the campus and provide us with immense opportunities. A few companies that came this time were Adani, Tiger Analytics, Barclays, etc.
Placement Experience :
The information regarding placements is available on the college website with detailed reports. But just for the answer, for the 2023 batch, the average package stood at 18.34 LPA and the highest went up to 28 LPA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees including everything (hostel mess) was around 9 Lakhs for the whole MBA. This according to me isn't very high. But, there are government-backed scholarships available for those who are interested and any bank would be happy to loan you an amount in the name of IITR.
Campus Life :
There is a lot to write about campus life and of course, already a lot is available on the Internet. IITR has one of the most beautiful campuses in India and it is loving to take a stroll through it, whenever you get time. There are several clubs in every aspect of education from cultural to technical, you can apply to any and learn and meet new people. Almost all the books are available.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels are good but old. Given IITR is 175 years old, it is an obvious thing. Regardless of that, hostels are comfortable and come along with all the basic requirements of a student. There is a mess allotted to each hostel and these messes are run by third-party agencies. Over that, there's a student-run mess committee that keeps the quality and taste of the food served in check.
Admission :
IITR accepts CAT and the cutoff is usually around 94%ile for general students. After the declaration of the CAT result, there's a separate form for IITR which you'll have to fill up and if you are shortlisted you'd be called for an interview further then a merit list would be released for selected students.
Interview Experience :
IITR takes an interview before admission. It was a fairly simple and small interview. Not at all stressful and the panel seemed to talk with me in joy. They asked me about my interests and started asking me questions from there. As far as my preparation goes, I took coaching from TIME Indore.
