Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose Electrical Engineering as it is really a very interesting domain to study in all aspects (tech/ research/ start-ups/ innovation etc). Moreover, the placement opportunities for BTech students are ample. A student can get an easy placement in the domains of Core Electronics and Software. The course curriculum is highly diverse and we get a lot of good things to study. Faculty-to-student ratio=> 1:11 Highly qualified Professors with diverse experience and research backgrounds. All the professors have a Ph.D. at minimum. After this, they did a post-doc and a lot of research to become proof at IIT. In fact, many professors themselves are alumni of IIT and IIS.
Internships Opportunities :
Google, Amazon, DEShaw, Oracle, Arcesium, Accenture, Zomato, Walmart, Jio, Flipkart, Accenture, TI, AD, Newzera, Razorpay, Barclays, and many more companies came for an internship this year. The majority offered SDE roles(coding and all) however Ti and AD were there for electronics. One should be good at coding, AI ML, Web dev, CP, and most important have a good CGPA to crack an internship.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There is no such policy of fee hike as the fee is regulated by the government. However, General and OBC students face a bit troublesome as the have to pay Rs 100000 as tuition fees whereas tuition fee is completely exempted for SC and ST candidates. The overall cost of study for the entire course is around 12 lakhs for Gen-OBC students and 2.5 lakhs for ST-SC students. The campus provides a lot of facilities and financial aid for unprivileged sections of society. Eg Interest-free loans under the Vidhya Lakshmi Scheme, a 33 percent fee for people with a family income of fewer than 5 lakhs.
Campus Life :
Annual fest=> Fluxux in the month of February. It is central India's largest cult fest. Technical Fest=> Ingenium (in the month of January). It will be conducted for the first time in IIT Indore this year. The library is highly enriched with books of all domains you would like to ask for. Well-furnished classrooms with AC, Smartboard, LED screen, etc. Full-furnished Indoor sports complex having Badminton, Basketball, Table Tennis, Squash, and a Gym. Each hostel has a Badminton court, a foosball table, and a TT table at its base. Others include a cricket ground 2 football grounds etc Extracurricular activities: Over 2 dozen tech and cult clubs that empower each student to explore whatever he likes. Social groups: Avana, Margdarshan, and EBSB doing services like free education to the poor, Old age home visits, etc.
