A very strict college administration for disciplinary rules but also a lot of freedom to students to study courses of their interest.
Entrance Preview :
I gave BITSAT 2015 and got 300/450,I opt for dual degree course at BITS,PILAnI,HYDERABAD CAMPUS.I chose this college to its national ranking and due to focus of institute on overall development rather than only academics.
Course Curriculum Overview :
BITS offers flexibility in course curriculum.You get to interact with some of the good minds. Hyderabad has got a great student community, so good opportunities to learn outside academics. ( like workshops, seminars or sports/plays/language learning etc., ) You can develop your interest in any subject ranging from humanities to electronics to film making etc., so it gives u ample opportunities. Its upto you to pursue what you want to do depending on your interests. for the second part of the question. BITS has something called dual degree, where you graduate in 2 degree, you can combine EEE + CS in that.
Internships Opportunities :
YES they are two practise schools(internship programs) PS-i at the end of 2nd year is basically for the the industrial exposure of students and hence no stipend is generally given in PS-I,PS-II takes place at the end of your graduation, a good amount of stipend averaging about 25k pm is given to students.Industries/companies are arranged by institute for internship.
Placement Experience :
Placements are awesome every year around 90% student get placed (Average salary for a cs guy is about 17 lpa).Companies that come to recruit are the best recruiters in their field like Amazon,Oracle,Nvidia,Texas instruments,Adobe,Goldman sachs,Bosch,Cisco,Jp Morgan e.t.c
College Events :
ALL the main fest of the college are national level fests with budgeting upto 1 crore. ATMOS -technical fest.(various competitons like robowars,mini gp,coding competitions occur) ARENA- sports fest.PEARL -cultural fest.(various celebrities come like Farhan Akhatar,Sonu Nigam e.t.c)Whole of the fests are managed by students.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
Fee structure is a bit expensive and the act of approximately 15% fee hike every year adds to it but on the same time facilities provided are also very good.A provision of MCN (merit cum need scholarship) is very helpful for meritorious and needy students.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Loans are given by banks at a lower rate of interest than other colleges as BITS come under premium colleges.Regarding scholarships-There are mainly two types of scholarships Merit scholarship(given to top 10-15 students of a batch) and MCN (merit cum need scholarship) ,it is given on the basis of parent's income and c.g.p.a of the student.
Campus Life :
Campus life is awesome,full of joy and excitement . But when it comes to gender ratio here girls to boys ratio is very less,although there are students from every corner of India there are some international students also.Labs and sports facilities are very updated and in very good condition,a fully developed Student activity Centre is there,and when it comes to competition there are prestigious national fests held such as ATMOS-technical fest,ARENA-sports fest,PEARL-cultural fest
Alumni/Alumna :
Best network of seniors,juniors and Alumni I have ever seen,Seniors are very helpful for academics as well as they are good friends too.A strong Alumni linked through Facebook is the best part of the network.
Exam Structure :
Exams are taken regularly to check the learning outcome of students but they are not too much to burden the students and when it comes to timetable of classes a full freedom to each and every student is given to make their own timetable,on an average schedule is perfect in which ample time is given to academics and extracurricular activities,
Admission :
First i gave BITSAT 2015 after that with my score i applied for the process of counselling ,after that a cutoffs of 1st iteration were released but i couldn't get admission in that because they are usually high,but after 10 days cutoff of 2nd iteration were released in which i was able to get admission,I confirmed my seat by paying fees in given time limit of 10 days.After all the iterations ,i had to report at BITS,hyderabad campus on 1 august for registration and campus verification.
Faculty :
Faculty in our college are upto the mark,they are specialist in their fields and are very educated intellacts,they have done their qualifications from the most prestigious universities of the world.Their research work is immense and interesting too,apart from their qualifications they are very good at teaching too,they help us to think of real world problems with the theory.
