Remarks :
overall good life no cases of raging inside the campus. the city is at a distance and it takes hour an hour to reach by auto.
Entrance Preview :
The entrance was through JEE mains. I scored 198/360 and my 12th % was 83.4 due to which my rank was 31995. The brand value of NITJ is the sole purpose of my selection
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course curriculum was out dated but some of the teachers were good due to there personal experience. Practical knowledge was less where as theoretical was given more importance. Software's regarding the course were mostly self taught or with the help of seniors
Internships Opportunities :
the college provides on campus internship opportunities. As some of the placement companies provide internships too. The internships are managed by the student representatives
Placement Experience :
The campus placements are good for Computer science, Electronics and communications, Mechanical, Instrumentation and control, Electrical where as the other branches like Civil, Chemical, industrial and production, Textile, Biotech are average. The average package is around 6-7.2 lpa
College Events :
There are two type of festivals at NIT Jalandhar one is the technical fest that is usually in the month of oct or nov. This fest provides opportunity to test your technical skills and has good cultural events like star night edm night battle of the band fashion show etc The other cultural fest is in the month of march
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure has changed in the recent times with the fee increasing from 30k for one semester to know approx. 50k the mess bill is separate and a deposit of 21k is required for the mess. Rest the hostel charges the wifi charges are included in the fees where are the mess charges are seperate
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
scholarship is to people with good CG and to others if there are any income issues for the family then the govt. of India provides the scholarship.
Campus Life :
gender ratio is approx. 6:1 and most of the boys are very angry and upset regarding this. extracurricular are organized by different teams like fine arts team, cultural team etc. sports event are held once every year one is for athletics and other is for different games inside the campus
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel to the first years are provided are hostel 1 and hostel 2 where there are rooms of 4 sharing and after that choice if of a single room and a room mate whatever you prefer the new hostels have wifi where as the older have LAN ports in each and every room the mess food is okay, good and bad depends upon the hostel.
Alumni/Alumna :
If any contact with the alumni they will help in placements as well as internships. maintaining a good senior junior relationship is most important for this purpose.
Exam Structure :
The exam structure consists of 2 minor exams that are of 20 marks each and one major exam of 50 marks. the rest is internal assessment for the teachers that is mostly based on the marks you score in the minors and majors the gap between exams is 1-1.5 months
Admission :
The process was through CSAB where the cutoff list and preferences were asked. The further process was at the campus or nearest NIT which ever you prefer. The submission of documents and admission fee was done on that day. Hostel allotment and mess fee was on the day you join college.
Faculty :
The faculty at NIT Jalandhar was good. All the senior faculty are great at teaching as well as communicating with the students. The temp faculty is ignorant and not that good in teaching they ensure the students do most of the course on there own. The non teaching faculty and administration is good
