Remarks :
B.Tech Courses are allowed for only those who have cleared the JEE Mains Examination. Although, if you are nearby cut-off marks you might get admission depending you are from the NE region and have proper documents. Minimum 12th percentage required is >60%. Also you'll have to apply separately from the TU portal if you're a NE citizen to avail the NE quota. Application fee of RS.1000 is to be paid. A merit list is prepared and accordingly seats are filled. Also every department has around 40% seats under reservation (OBC-NCL/SC/ST). For those who are not from Northeast are required to go through the CSAB counselling.
Course Curriculum Overview :
CSE and ECE are the very first departments as well as my love for robotics lead me into opting foe Electronics and communication Engineering. The faculty is excellent. There is a communication gap with certain professors but again which college doesn't have such professors who aren't easy to deal with. Semester exams are quite easy, if you've attended the classes or at least if you've arrange the notes you'll pass easily.
Internships Opportunities :
Very less opportunities for internships. You'll mostly have to apply off-campus during your 3rd year. If you've been coding since 2nd year itself you might get internship opportunities from the few that come.
Placement Experience :
Placements are as expected by a tier-3 college with an average CTC of 4LPA. But looking on the brighter side Amazon came in 2022. placements and took 1 student from CSE with 35LPA. So, if you're good you'll get a good job. Many core companies such as L&T, Alstom, etc. with an average CTC of 6.5 LPA also recruit.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure is cool, considering it is a GFTI college. Coming from a middle-class family I can assure you it is 1000 times better than going to a private college. For NE region students without any Gap year, you can apply for Ishan Uday Scholarship under UGC at National Scholarship Portal. Placements are as expected by a tier-3 college. 4LPA is the average CTC given if you are good with coding, you can get a decent job. I had done some coding towards the end of my final year so I was able to crack a 6.5 CTC job.
Campus Life :
Campus life is unbelievable. The infrastructure of academic buildings, Hostels, canteens, etc. is amazing. Central Library is one of the best parts. Great place to spend your time with books and learning. A newly constructed basketball court and swimming pool are one of the best parts. The indoor badminton court is quite small with just one court but does the job. Several sports, Literature, and cultural clubs to enroll and participate in numerous events around the year.
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are the best. I stayed at PATKAI Men's Hostel. One of the biggest hostels in Northeast. It is humungous. Food Quality is not that bad, you can easily survive. There are local PGs available nearby but I'd suggest staying in Hostel.
