Remarks :

The admission process was quite smooth and completely online. All the details were available on the college website and the helpline provided is quite active and helpful. The eligibility of the course is 10+2. They will ask for the percentage in 10+2 level and will release a list based on those marks and will sort us according to it. The students eligible for admission will be notified via call as well as sms. The admission process is quite smooth and all details are provided in the College website.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The college is affiliated to Calcutta University and hence follows the curriculum provided by them. Scottish Church College is one of the few colleges which follow it diligently and syllabus is always completed on time and regular internal evaluation takes place. The teacher student ratio is 1:6. The reason for choosing B.Sc. in computer science is because it provides an entry in the technical world. Internal exams were at par with the standard of semester exams and challenging.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships are provided but not that much. Companies like TCS and Cognizant give internships but not that lucrative ones. Some students opt for those but they are short internships and normally one project is given, for example to design a single app.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for placement from semester 6. The companies that visited were TCS, Cognizant, L&T, L&T infotech, ICICI prudential, Amazon, Byjus, Kotak Life, Houselites, and many others. About 70 percent of students applying for placement got placed. Offers were made generously and students accepted. The highest offer was 5.5L p.a. and the average was 2.4 L p.a. I wish to pursue master's after completing this degree.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees are at par with all the other colleges from Calcutta University. Fees were reduced in the pandemic. Many scholarships are provided by the college as well as government and private. College is very helpful in these matters and placement cell is quite good.

Campus Life :

Campus Life is quite vibrant and classes are all equipped with projectors and other amenities. The huge playground is there and sports day is a huge deal on the campus. Many events are organized throughout the year on various things. Numerous clubs are there for students and they are all extremely active and carry a huge reputation across the city and meet every week.

The Course curriculum & faculty members are quite good, 1st of all I have preferred Bsc Biotech because of my extreme interest in genetic engineering & upcoming situations of Covid 19. Also, this subject has a possibility for a Blooming future in the upcoming days of the Pandemic/epidemic. The Faculty in This college is quite good & The laboratory benefits & materials are also Supportive & workable, This college provides one of the oldest Biotech labs in West Bengal. The student ratio is also balanced. Remarks:

This college still today stands to be among the first choice of every student in the hooghly district and 2nd in the Burdwan University. The only negative part is that this college has a very high political presence in the campus. Though the present government said that they oppose such strong political holds in colleges but still this words has not been kept.
