Remarks :

We were asked if we have given any entrance and then graduation was considered. Everything was available online but I decided to visit the campus where I was well attended. Kamla Ghansala the chairman of the college also met us for a few seconds and immediately asked people to help me out. The admission process happened so easily as it was like applying butter to bread.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The faculties were 20 odd for our course as we used to have 7 or more subjects each semester. All the faculties were MBA of PGDM degree holders from top colleges of India like MDI, FMS, or Symbiosis. Every single thing that we were taught in theory, we were provided practical application of those through workshops and live projects.

Placement Experience :

From the final semester, in fact, I have to be bluntly honest, the companies during the final two months and mostly it was the banks that hired the majority of students. Banks like HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank who pay double the package when they hired students from IIMs or Symbiosis paid GEU students petty packages of 5-6 LPA. No complaints though as finding off-campus placement are next to impossible so kudos to the placement cell for arranging campus placements for us.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees were a little high but the merit holders held an advantage as they got some serious concessions in the fees. Most of those opportunities were provided to students from Uttarakhand as outsiders either had to come through sports quota or army quota to avail of scholarship benefits. I was neither of those so had to pay the full fees which I felt were not that high as the college offers some serious placements.

Campus Life :

Fests have always been a part of GEU as the university is known for that. MBA department had their own fest and the combined fest of GUE and GEHU was called GRAFEST which is the biggest celebration on the campus. There were many TEDx talk clubs as most MBA students were engaged with those clubs. There was dance, and other societies but they were meant more for junior students.

We have a dedicated student-run placement committee that caters to the placements of the college. The placements, both for the summers as well as finals are considerably good as the number as well as the quality of companies getting on campus is increasing every year. The college offers 100% placement.

Entrance Preview:

The only exam that I had to give was CAT but it was a hard nut to crack. As my score in CAT met the cut-off this college, I received a call letter on my e-mail as I have earlier applied over here. I had to also go through a personal interview round and then got a final admission. All my academic documents and financial documents were also verified.

Placement Experience:

In the 4th semester, the companies started visiting the campus and prominent of those for our course were HDFC Bank and Axis Bank. The average salary offered was in the range of 35-40k a month. Nearly half the students from our batch were placed and I became a stockbroker now but took some experience by working at HDFC securities for a couple of years.

Admission:

Personal interview and the group discussion are the two rounds that you need to clear in order to get admission here. You need to be aware about your course and some questions from your past job/ internship are also asked (if you have done any). Some personality questions are asked as well. Be confident and answer.

Placement Experience:

The placement part is best in GEU. After the 2nd semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies like Amazon, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Capgemini, Deloitte, Infosys visit our campus every year for campus placements. The highest package offered to students was 32Lakhs PA and the average package was about 4Lakhs PA. Every year 90% of students get placed in a well reputed company with a good package. If you study well and work hard, then you can easily get placed in some good company. University helps students a lot in their placements and also in their personality development, so they can crack all the interviews easily. My plans after getting the degree are to become a Financial Analyst in a well reputed company.

Admission:

Admissions are granted on the basis of Uttarakhand State Entrance Examination (UKSEE) organised specifically for the admission to colleges in the Uttarakhand state. I cleared the university cut off and then attended the UKSEE counselling organised by the university for seat allocation.

Placement Experience:

Our college maintains a close tie-ups with many companies from different sector. The placements are pretty good and internship assistance is also provided in our college. A student of UTU stands a chance to secure a package of around 4 LPA on average.
