Admissions for the 2026 academic session at UTU Dehradun have concluded. B.Tech admissions ran through JEE Main 2026 and UKSEE 2026, with state counselling managed by the Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education (UBTER). The table below summarises concluded 2026 events and tentative 2027 dates.

B.Tech specialisations include CSE, IT, ECE, Electronics, Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Automobile, Biochemical, Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, Industrial and Production Engineering, Mechatronics, and Plastic and Polymer Engineering. M.Tech is offered in 15 specialisations spanning civil, electrical, CSE, power systems, digital communication, VLSI, thermal, and manufacturing engineering.

UTU Dehradun Admission Process

UTU Dehradun is an affiliating university whose B.Tech, B.Pharm, MCA, and MBA admissions are centrally managed through UKSEE (Uttarakhand State Entrance Exam) counselling conducted by UBTER. Direct programmes at the main campus also accept national exam scores.

B.Tech Admission

Eligibility for the 4-year B.Tech programme requires:

• 10+2 with a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
• Valid JEE Main score or UKSEE score
• Separate state counselling through UBTER for Uttarakhand domicile and other candidates

Seat allotment is based on JEE Main rank or UKSEE rank through centralised state counselling. Candidates report to the allotted institution for document verification and fee payment to confirm admission.

B.Arch Admission

B.Arch admission requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, and at least 50% aggregate marks. Valid NATA (National Aptitude Test in Architecture) score or JEE Main Paper 2 score is mandatory. Counselling is managed through the Council of Architecture approved state process.

MBA

The 2-year MBA programme requires a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Valid MAT, CMAT, or UKSEE scores are accepted. Selection involves a merit shortlist followed by group discussion and personal interview at UTU Dehradun. The International MBA variant follows the same eligibility but includes a global component in the curriculum.

M.Tech and MCA

M.Tech admission requires a B.Tech or BE degree with a minimum of 55% marks in the relevant discipline. A valid GATE score is the primary admission criterion. GATE-qualified candidates are eligible for a monthly stipend as per AICTE norms. MCA admission requires a graduation degree with Mathematics as a subject, along with a valid UKSEE score or university entrance test.

Pharmacy and Law

B.Pharm requires 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Mathematics (minimum 45%), with admission via UKSEE. M.Pharm requires B.Pharm with a minimum of 55% marks and a valid GPAT or UKSEE score. LLB (3-year) requires a graduation degree with 45% marks. The 5-year integrated BA LLB and BBA LLB programmes require 10+2 with 45% aggregate marks.
