NIT Nagaland Review

Remarks :

After clearing JEE I have opted for JOSAA counseling and I was given a seat in NIT Nagaland as I was meeting the cutoff criteria of the college and I was also interested in the CSE program. The college is located away from the city the connectivity is very good as the college is located near the airport and railway station. The college is very popular for its B.Tech program and the college provides a good study environment for studies.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of the program is good and the curriculum helps us to understand the concepts clearly but the curriculum is a little lengthy. The curriculum is designed to develop our analytical and decision-making skills. The faculty of the college is good and well experienced. The faculty are not only master in their respective subject but they also have good research and industrial exposure which is very beneficial for us as they share their experiences with us.

Internships Opportunities :

The college itself does not provide internships and if we wanted to opt for an internship program we have to go for the off-campus internship program. The stipend will also depend on the norms for the internship because we are not getting an internship from the college.

Placement Experience :

The placement of the college is good. The college placement committee is good and the placement cell is experienced. The college placement cell plays a very important role be as all the placement process conduction responsibility is of the college placement committee and they also help during the placement process. The highest package for the batch was around 12 LPA and the average salary package is around 7.50 LPA.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I applied for an education loan from the SBI bank the loan process was very smooth and the admission staff also cooperated very well. My loan was sanctioned very late so I have to pay my first instalment fee by myself but the fee was refunded back as soon as my complete loan was sanctioned. During the refund process, the accounts department was also very cooperative.

Campus Life :

The campus life of the college is very peaceful as the college is located away from the city and is located in a beautiful location. The college is well connected through the railway and airport. The college organises extracurricular activities like debate, dance, music and drama competition. The college library need an updation most there are many books available but the books are old. The college provides a good environment for study as it is located in a very peaceful environment.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel is good and the rooms are available on sharing basis. The rooms have basic facilities like a bed, study table and almirahs. The rooms are properly cleaned and the bathrooms are cleaned properly. The hostel mess food quality is good but the menu is limited. The hotel has 24 hours of water and power supply. The wardens and staff work very hard to maintain the decorum of the hostel.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For CSE, I choose this college. The girl's-boys ratio in our college is 1:3. To pass the exams is not that much difficult but getting a good score is quite difficult. The professors are friendly and they teach us very well.

Admission:

St. Joseph University is located in Nagaland and has a beautiful study environment. To get admission, the student should have completed class 12 with at least 50 percent from any recognized Indian Board. Then the students will have to give the entrance exam and based on their merit in the exam they will be selected for the university.

Placement Experience:

St. Joseph University provides with very good education and also various skill development programs for the students. There are internships and placements opportunities for the students to grow and enhance their experience. Various companies like wipro, Amazon, HCL etc visit the campus and recruit the students.

Admission:

I had to first write an entrance exam which is specific to engineering field. The ranks allotted on the basis of the exam got me into this college at the counselling. After which the process was very simple and I just had to report to the college with the required documents.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities we are provided are pretty good. Good amount of companies visit our college for placements. We are also trained very well for interviews and future job aspects which makes it easier to get jobs.
