College Review

Remarks :

Located in a peaceful place. Peace of mind for those who love to study.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The ranking is done based on CGPA. In my time i.e. 2011-2015, due to low faculties, we had to compromise on core subjects and go for common branch subjects. Couse curriculum and exam pattern is good but needs refinement and the team of faculties are new and many of the faculties are new as a teacher.

Placement Experience :

We were the second batch. Our placement performance was great comparatively to the previous batch with many getting internships and great jobs. Many of my batchmates are now in reputed companies and IT firms and earnings a handsome pay.

College Events :

Our batch of 2011-2015 initiated the college techno cultural 2 day event named Ekarikthin that engulfed the city and nearby town schools and colleges to participate in many events. This is the major event that happens in NIT Nagaland each year and the quality is improving with each year.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Feasible at my time but it was doubled for the upcoming batches. The payment is usually in demand draft and tuition fees seemed high based on the state of the quality of classes that we received. Somewhat transparent and no, no additional fees are to be paid to book a place for admission.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

No. My father saved enough to make me complete my college without taking up a loan. I didn't apply for any scholarships.

Campus Life :

Good. The friends I made are for life. The life was harsh in the initial months when we moved to our new campus and later it began to settle and take pace. People plays volleyball, cricket, football, badminton and table tennis. Amenities took a long time to be made available but I do get that the first batches need to pay for that.

Hostel Facilities :

Yes. While we moved to the new campus, we stayed in barracks and later moved to small hostels. Later new hostels were constructed with pre fabricated materials and the next batches were made to stay there.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes. There is an alumni formation initiative taken by college students and its under way. By this many passout guys can help and improve the college placement status.

Admission :

I appeared for AIEEE and then during counselling bagged a seat in NIT Nagaland for the branch Electrical and Electronics engineering. Admission process is simple and easy. The whole admission process takes a whole day. They collect school and high school grade cards and keep a copy with them for documentation.

Faculty :

Well learned but a bit under the notch based on the fact that the college is among national importance. As more than half of the faculties were semi experienced in teaching, the heavy deal had to be beared by the students to match up the standards. But I feel it has improved with time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For CSE, I choose this college. The girl's-boys ratio in our college is 1:3. To pass the exams is not that much difficult but getting a good score is quite difficult. The professors are friendly and they teach us very well.

Admission:

St. Joseph University is located in Nagaland and has a beautiful study environment. To get admission, the student should have completed class 12 with at least 50 percent from any recognized Indian Board. Then the students will have to give the entrance exam and based on their merit in the exam they will be selected for the university.

Placement Experience:

St. Joseph University provides with very good education and also various skill development programs for the students. There are internships and placements opportunities for the students to grow and enhance their experience. Various companies like wipro, Amazon, HCL etc visit the campus and recruit the students.

Admission:

I had to first write an entrance exam which is specific to engineering field. The ranks allotted on the basis of the exam got me into this college at the counselling. After which the process was very simple and I just had to report to the college with the required documents.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities we are provided are pretty good. Good amount of companies visit our college for placements. We are also trained very well for interviews and future job aspects which makes it easier to get jobs.
