Remarks :
I chose this college because it has over 45 years of experience and achievements in the field of technical education. Because of the quality of education imparted here, it has also been awarded the status of Institution of National Importance since the year 2007. To apply, I downloaded the online application form, duly filled it in and send to MNIT Admissions office along with e-receipt of Rs 1200.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The curriculum is dynamic and is being constantly being updated to be on par with the changing business scenario. In the first and second semester, we are provided with strong conceptual base in all traditional management disciplines, with an emphasis on analytical rigour. The highly qualifed faculty with experience with international markets uses experiential teaching methods like group discussions, presentations, and case studies. These methods helped me to better understand the topics.
Internships Opportunities :
I worked on the sales team with Microsoft during the summer terms. The team manager and members were very friendly and guided me through the whole process. I also picked up a lot of useful skills like how to negotiate with clients, decision-making etc from them.
Placement Experience :
The placement rate is good enough as the University maintains close ties with several industry heads and corporate bodies. Around 85% of my classmates including me got placed in prominent companies during the campus placement drive. The average CTC was INR 5 LPA whereas the highest CTC offered was around INR 9 LPA. Some of the companies that participated in the recruitment process was Amazon, Microsoft, HP, Samsung, Snapdeal, Hindusthan Unilever, Cisco etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee for one year is around Rs 48,000. The fee structure includes Rs 12,000 for tuition fee, Rs 5000 as caution money, Rs 12000 for hostel fee and Rs 19,000 for institute and other charges. A few scholarships offered by the University, the Central Government and other external organisations are also available for those who need it.
Campus Life :
Our social life consists of a annual socio-cultural fest which consists of several fun and exciting events as well as performances by us and celebrity guests. We also have annual sports meets and cultural programs during festivals and important national holidays. The infrastructure is also great as we have banks, canteen, health centre, student activity centre, a central library spread over two floors within the campus.
Hostel Facilities :
I chose to stay at Campus hostel for girls as it will give me chance to meet more new people and have fun. I had to share a room with two of my classmates in first year. The room and common washroom was quite clean. The hostel had other facilities too like laundry, water coolers, geysers, computers, 24 hour internet connectivity and so on.
Admission :
Based on CAT score I was selected and asked to attend the second round of admission which includes Group Discussion and Personal Interview. I prepared comprehensively for this round by going through almost all current affairs happening in India and the world.
