Review of NMIMS: MBA Pharmaceutical Management

Remarks :

The NMAT test can be taken up to three times each year, with the best of the three results counting. Any bachelor or above Pharma/Biotech graduate with a minimum of 50% marks can apply for the program provided they clear the cut off of the NMAT examination. On the official website of NMIMS, the application form can be found along with important dates. A certain amount of cost is required to be submitted (last year it was 2500/-). I haven't taken any reservation advantages. The application and admission procedure is simple and straight forward and also contacts are shared on the official website for any assistance.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The MBA in Pharmaceutical Management is a one-of-a-kind program. This subject appealed to me since the pharmaceutical sector as a whole is incredibly dynamic and ever-growing. The student-to-faculty ratio is 1:20. Teachers needed to have MBA or higher degree i.e, Ph.D. and above) from a prestigious university. Visiting faculties, guest lecturers are also invited to share their immense knowledge on various pharmaceutical issues. Instructions remain related to case studies. Throughout the 6 trimesters over 2 years, various challenging tests and assignments are needed to be gone through.

Internships Opportunities :

Internships and related things are not sharable here due to guidelines given by the college. But most of the projects are related to the pharma and medical device field only in good companies. Companies offer 2 months of internship.

Placement Experience :

Students for summers get eligible after the first trimester nearly and for finals, it is a second year. For our course, varied level of companies come with handsome salary and good position. PPO/PPI is available for the eligible students where the decision stands solely from the company side. Information related to package and company is not sharable as per norms but big companies come and almost all the students who want to go for the job gets placed by the college. Pharmaceuticals, medical devices, market research, consultancies, medical communication, and other associated healthcare companies do visit the campus.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The total fee for the cost varies from year to year, but now it is nearly 13 lakhs. The admission department also provides assistance with loans and other data. Various scholarships are available in college depending upon merit and performance. Full support is provided by the college in terms of tuition and hostel-related charges.

Campus Life :

Several groups, committees are there to join in college. 15-20 significant clubs, cells, and committees are present. They conduct festivals, activities, and contests to keep the students interested and freshen up their minds. The library contains a good range of books and also books are sent to the students to their home in a pandemic situation. Digital technology and all other required comfort is present. Our college offers well-developed infrastructure, a variety of cultural and sports activities.

Interview Experience :

The written (MCQ-based) test was NMAT, followed by GD/PI. The PI round is featured with scientific(i.e., related to previous education/job) and basic market-related questions. The admission procedure is straightforward. You have to clear the cut-off which varies from curriculum to curriculum and year to year. Also, a sectional cutoff is needed to be cleared.

Placement Experience:

The college provides fare placements, but still there is a chance of improvement especially for the field of data science. From our batch 100% of students got placed, but keeping the scope of field in mind, the average package is low as compared to the investment

The placements depend upon which Specialization you're in. If you're a marketing student there will be lots of good companies coming in for placements followed by finance and then HR. You become eligible for placement from 3rd semester. Companies such as Deloitte, PWC, TCS, HCL, etc. visit the campus for placements and offer a good amount of Packages.
