Remarks :
The admission process was via NMAT by GMAC, there were 3 attempts and in the first week of February, the cutoff list is published. The selected students have to appear for the WAT and PI rounds after which the final list is published on the college website. Now they have reduced it to just one attempt, which makes it harder than before.
Course Curriculum Overview :
MBA HR was my first and only preference. Their curriculum and pedagogy are rated among the 10 best B schools in India. They focus a little more on academics but otherwise they have a great group of faculty. There are 128 students in the program and about 20-25 professors who provide assignments and projects all year round.
Internships Opportunities :
There will be enough opportunities for one student, for Summers, and for corporate projects which would enable them work in places they find appealing. In HR all different kind of roles are offered from recruitment to startegy planning and compensation planning as well.
Placement Experience :
The placements of NMIMS seem appealing and that was one reason to join this institution. It offers an opportunity to come to face a lot of great companies and even the various case study competitions one can get such opportunities. The placement record of MBA HR at NMIMS is 100% in the last 5 years with an average package of 13LPA and the highest package of around 23LPA. The students are eligible for final placements in the fourth trimester. Various companies that come to the campus include Goldman Sachs, reliance, Unacademy, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fees for MBA HR program is 22Lacs which has again been increased as compared to the previous year, and I don't think it's decent because while they are at par with other b-schools they still do not have a residential program. The college provides internship oppertunities for students with companies coming in for placements with stipend ranging from 20000-125000.
Campus Life :
Social life has been dull due to the pandemic. We still have as many fests as possible online. From ice-breaker events to national competitions one gets an opportunity to be a part of all. The library is a great resource. There is a placement committee and the student council and different functional cells like ecolibria, Prabodhan (wellness cell), Nepathya(cultural cell), IIPC etc where students can get themselves registered after appearing for respective interviews.
Interview Experience :
Yes we gave a Written ability test and then a PI. They used to have GDs before. The topics were generic, like current global issues such as digitization, farm laws, COVID policies and impact on world etc. The interview was basically around the Hygiene questions like introduce yourself and why did you choose HR and NMIMS respectively.
