Remarks :
It's located in Poonamalle, Chennai in the Tamil Nadu State of India. Far from Chennai City which is a bit difficult to travel.Panimalar College has a good infrastructure filled with a green campus. Constructed Area: 28.65 acres “The infrastructure and facility available on campus are the very best” The PIT campus spreads over 30 acres in a spacious, noise-free, clean, green zone and serene atmosphere ideally suited for technical education. The sequence of the courses in the current semester and the courses studied in the previous semester are in perfect sequence when compared to other colleges. The quality of teaching is too good and very effective. The campus is affiliated with Anna university so the syllabus is fully based on Anna University. Everybody thinks that placement in panimalar is somewhat ok when compared to other colleges. But the truth is “Placement literally sucks”. Good and no campus exploring.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose mechanical engineering because of my keen interest in moving bodies and I'm having a great command of physical sciences. Well qualified faculties are few. Most of the professors are post-graduates from local colleges from Anna university. They don't bother to create that extra interest in students. The way of teaching methods is outdated. Very few professors are really concerned about students' curiosity about learning new things. Each subject professor will distribute your notes which is more than enough to score a good cgpa in Anna University exams. And additionally, you will ample amount of study holidays at least 15 days prior to the exam for you to prepare well.
Internships Opportunities :
No Internship assistance from Panimalar. Many students are exploring on their own to do internships. Very few students do their projects on their own Research. Most of the students will buy from project centers. Professors are ready to clarify our doubts regarding project tasks.
Placement Experience :
From seventh semester onwards who has no standing arrears he/she can sit for Placements. Mostly IT companies visits panimalar and very few core companies are coming to hire students. In that to they hire only 2 to 5 students from all departments of panimalar college. Highest package offer is 16lakhs per annum and lowest package is 2.5 lakhs per annum On Average 70 to 85 percentage of students get placement from Panimalar. Most of the students are opting jobs right after completing their degree. Very few are doing Higher studies
Fees and Financial Aid :
Only Tamilnadu students will get a scholarship and financial assistance from their state government other states students has to join through management quota. Very few students gets placement assistance on their respective departments. Not much core companies hire. One has to compete with all departments to get job that to less package.
Campus Life :
Yes, there's a Robotics club, like every other college has. Toast master club is there the one who has to improve their English communication skills he / she can join. In panimalar college one an attend only on Thursday and Friday. Only these two clubs are active in my 4yrs of engineering. Big library which I assume many don't use. Most of the students depend on professors notes. No Extra curricular activities Continuous classes without a single minute break in between one class to another class.
Hostel Facilities :
Panimalar offers hostel facility for both other state students and home state students. The rooms are very good and cleaner than our own home. Each person gets an individual cupboard and study lamp with study chair. Hot water facility. Except Saturday in all 7 days of a week Non veg food with great quality and quantity. If one can willing to join a hostel he/she has to reach administrate block there you can pay hostel fee which very low fee compare to other colleges. Very few PGs are available near to Panimalar college. If you are looking for good PGs you have to stay in Chennai only which quite far from Panimalar college.
