Velammal Engineering College (VEC) is a private institution established in 1995 by Velammal Educational Trust. It is affiliated to Anna University and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and also an ISO certified institution. It was the first private engineering College to obtain an ISO certificate from the National Board of Accreditation. - Library: VEC has a very well-furnished, ventilated & spacious library with an area of around 24,000 sq. ft. It contains 76118 volumes of books, 178 national and international journals, and 9517 online journals. It follows the Open System Access with well-equipped number of Educational video/ CD’s and Audio Cassettes as well. The library comprises of Stack hall with reading room, book bank sections, technical section, reprography sections to cater to every need of the students.
- Hostel: VEC has enabled separate accommodations for girls and boys. The hostel can house 300 girls & 600 boys. One room can accommodate 2 students Single room facility is given to the PG & final years Students. Mess facility is also provided with a dining hall and hygienic food is served.
- Student Counselling Service: The college has a student counseling department where a staff member counsels every student once a week. It looks after the students’ performance and how it can be improved. Whenever necessary, parents are also invited to discuss their wards’ report.

We can join this college by tnea counselling and management. For cse it ece students need an average cutoff of 180-160 to join according to there community. I applied to various Many other colleges but I was allotted a seat in this college according to the availability and marks

My admission process was through government quota... That is I attended a counselling for engineering under Anna university... And for my cutoff based on(physics, chemistry, maths) it was 180.04 and went into second round of counselling and got admission in velammal engineering college... And after it was confirmed I was told to bring my documents and pay the fees for the academic year and this is my eligibility in joining the course and the admission process was via government quota

Process was so smooth. I joined by management quota. Application form is in the college website. No entrance exams were there. 100% placement records for CSE and IT students. AI & DS was introduced. Join here only if you want to study and no enjoyment.
