Remarks :

IIT Roorkee's M.Arch course is worthy to be pursued. Urban and Rural Planning is a process of improving the quality of life and economic well being of the people living in this area. It is a kind of regional planning program for the sake of the welfare of the residential people.

Course Curriculum Overview :

In the teaching process of Urban and Rural Planning students just not only learn theoretical knowledge but also should have flexibility in practical knowledge. Virtual simulation technology is related to urban and rural planning. Practical teaching enhances the good effect on improvising students practical ability.

Course Fees : INR 10000 per year

Placement Experience :

The highest CTC of INR 2,15,000 is offered till now. Many PPO offers are made by the organization to make students industry-ready. 265 recruiters participated in the placement drive in the previous session. Some of them are Amazon, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The tuition fee is Rs 5,000 for each semester. Other expenses fee of Rs 7,000 is taken in the second semester while first semester, 3rd and 4th generally charge Rs 6,200 in each.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

MCM scholarships like Smt. Sashi Krishna Medal is given to the meritorious students. Besides, the James Thomason Scholarship and Tuition fee waiver scheme is given to less family income students.

Campus Life :

The life of IIT Roorkee is always great. It is a special blend of modern life with traditional values. Events of IIT Roorkee give glorious memories to the students. Its Architectural category holds a famous place in the country.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility is given to all kinds of UG students. It is found with all kinds of infrastructures. Hostel fee for males and females is Rs 42,000 - 44,000 per year. Names of the girls hostels are Sarojini Bhawan, Kasturba Bhawan and Indira Bhawan and boys hostels are Azad Bhawan, Govind Bhawan etc.

Admission :

Two years full time graduation course in B.Arch degree is needed for the admission. The selection depends on the score in GATE and in the Bachelor exam.

Faculty :

Its faculty profile is dynamic. They get different awards from different national educational events for their innovative thinking.

Placement Experience:

More than 147 companies made 632 placement offers. 214 pre-placement offers were made to the students and the highest CTC went to Rs. 1.8 CPA (domestic). Highest International CTC was Rs. 2.15 CPA. Alphonso, Amazon, Analog Devices, AppDynamics India Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., Codenation, Cohesity, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, Intel Technology Pvt. Ltd., Jaguar Land Rover, JPMorgan Chase & Co., Micron Technologies Operations India LLP, Microsoft, Oracle participated in the placement week.
