Entrance Preview :

I got admission in COEP through MH-CET. Also diploma students can admit themselves after completion of diploma as Direct second year admission.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Overall curriculum is very good and very flexible. Every semester, there is subject elective, in which we have to choose one subject from list of subjects apart from main technical subjects. Curriculum also includes subjects like constitution of India, Intellectual property rights, psychology etc for betterment of students.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, Last year from mechanical department almost 80 students out of 150 had opportunity for internship purpose. Average stipend was almost 2000₹/ month. 2 students were selected for research internship in Japan. And now 2 students are selected for student exchange program for this semester in Germany.

Placement Experience :

Till now about 130/150 students from mechanical department placed in core companies with good salaries. Average package is 4lpa approximate. Some of the companies are Rolls Royce, Caterpillar, HPCL, BPCL, Cummins, Kirloskar, Eaton, L&T, Ashok Leyland, Tata Steel, Tata motors etc.

College Events :

Technical event: 'Mind-spark' in September every year with almost 50+ events. Cultural event: 'Impressions' in December every year with 15+ cultural events like singing, dancing, drama etc. Sports event: one of the prestigious event among engineering college events in Maharashtra and now in India also with almost 20+ sports.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Comparing with other government engineering colleges, fees is quite expensive but considering facilities and job guarantee, it's good to invest such huge amount. This year fees was structured as 74,000₹ per year and increases by approx 6-7% per year.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Many scholarship and loan facilities are offered to students from various institutions like Vinod Doshi Foundation gives around 75,000₹ scholarship per student per year but they have interviews for selecting candidates.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel and mess are one of the best reasons to get admission in COEP. Hostel fee is around 20,000₹ per year with high speed internet connection and WiFi facility. Also continued electricity, hot and cold water supply, water filters for drinking purpose on each floor included in hostel. COEP Mess is one of the best mess I ever seen.

Alumni/Alumna :

Alumni network is very strong. They always helps juniors to come up and explore new opportunities in the world.

Exam Structure :

Exam pattern is Test1, test2 both 20 marks each and end semester exam of 60 marks. Total 100. All students opted for the course are then alloted grades as per top 2 students and marks distribution. Passing marks varies from 40 I.e.

Admission :

Four years ago, engineering admission were conducted through MH-CET exam. Then for 2 years, admissions were conducted through JEE. Now admissions will conduct through MH-CET. AICTE(All India Centre for Technical Education) conducts CAP(Central Admission Process) for admission in Maharashtra. As per state merit list and preferences given in form, admissions are given to students.

Faculty :

Faculty is good. Almost 80-90% faculty hold PhD. Faculty uses high-tech equipments for teaching purpose and arranges industrial visit whenever necessary. Student to faculty ration is very less as compared to other institutions.

From the third-year sixth semester our college taking campus placement or internship programs. In the past, our college has got an average of 4 LPA packages and the highest 12 or 14 LPA packages. There are so many companies like TCS, COGNIGENT, WIPRO, etc. Our College gives 95-98% placement in engineering. Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements in their last year. There are many good companies that come and take part in the placement drives. Companies like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Capgemini etc. come here for placements. The highest package in my understanding was about 30 lakhs as studied and searched by me. Many students secure packages above 3.5 lakhs in our college. About 90% of students get placed through the drives. My plan is also to take a good job from placement and then do my masters.

Admission:

I got admission through CAP Round as directed by AICTE and DTE, the process is of 3 rounds until you choose a college and finalize it. Admission dates for FE students start from around May-June period as college opens at around 15 July approx. And Students need to bring all documents attested and submit the original 10th- 12th documents in the college and after completing the graduation. He/She can collect the originals from the college after collecting LC from the college.
