Remarks :

For admission in the BArch course at IIT BHU, you need to qualify for JEE Mains and get a decent rank at JEE Advanced (18,500 was the cutoff in the year 2020) and after that, you need to apply for the AAT exam. This exam has some basic drawing and General knowledge questions and is pretty easy to qualify. After qualifying for this exam, you get the courses allotted according to your rank, you can also get BArch at IIT Roorkee and IIT Kharagpur ( Their cutoff can vary from 12,000 to 17,000 rank). Qualifying AAT doesn't mean you only get BArch, BTech is still an option. It all depends on Rank. After getting the results and qualifying for all these exams, you need to apply for JOSAA counselling and in the course choice filling step, choose all your preferred colleges in the right preference order. And then you will be allocated the seats according to your rank in different rounds. When you are allocated a seat, you need to pay some amount, about 30k and then you get the allocated seat.

Course Curriculum Overview :

B. Arch is the course for studying Architecture. It is a 5 year course. Along with the details for construction and designing buildings and open spaces, it teaches you the art of planning those buildings. This course enhances your ability to act more creatively. The faculty have nice skills for teaching, in fact, some of them help you like seniors. There are some strict ones too. The teaching method they use is pretty different from schools, here you have to learn by yourself, faculty will help you but not spoonfeed you like teachers used to do in school. All the professors are PhD in qualifications. The exams are held twice a semester, Mid - Semesters (25% weightage) and End - Semesters (35% weightage) rest 40% is covered through assignments and quizes, attendence too in some subjects. They are not too difficult to pass but yes, you might want to work hard if you want a decent CGPA. If you miss these exams due to some mishappenings, then you can inform the authority and give another one.

Placement Experience :

Students can apply for internships from Third Year and for placements in, the Fourth year. The number of offers for internships in the year 2020-2021 was 204 with an average stipend of 2 lakhs. About 52 companies visited the campus for placements in 2019-2020 including Goldman Sachs, D Shaw, Microsoft, Google, ITC, Cisco, Uber, Nautonics, Sprinkle, etc. And 762 students were placed with a placement percentage of 71%. The highest domestic package was 1.04 crore rupees and the highest international package was 1.53 crore rupees. The basic salary range was from 10 lakh rupees to 58.21 lakh rupees and the average salary package was 8.19 lakhs.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

For the general category, the Fees is around 1 lakh rupees per semester ( excluding the hostel charges ). It is the same for the OBC category. For the students whose family annual income is less than 5 lakhs but greater than 1 lakh, fees are about 40 thousand rupees per semester and for the students whose family annual income is less than 1 lakh, fees are about 6 thousand per semester. For the reservation students who come under Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Physically Disabled (PD), fees are 6 thousand rupees per semester. There are many types of Scholarships provided by the institute. You can search about them in detail on the official site of the college.

Campus Life :

Well, I haven't been to campus yet due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I'm in Second - year and still waiting for the campus life but I do know that it's amazing. This campus is huge with about 1400 acres of land. The hostels are decent and it has one of the best messes that a college has. There are many clubs - Sports and Athletics clubs like Basketball Club, Badminton Club, Volleyball- Club, Boxing Club, Kabaddi Club (a club for almost every sport). There are Animation Club and Design Club. There are COPS (Club for Programming) Chess Club and many more. GymKhana at our college has almost every sports facility.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose architecture because I wanted to build great buildings. The curriculum was mostly fancy and outlandish that involved projects that were not fit for Real world applications. The work that an architect receives on average were mainly focused in third and fourth year. Other than that it was either Grand projects or projects that were not for Real world applications. The pacing of the curriculum was very fast and the saw majority of students were not able to finish their projects by time. There semester exams and and project submissions mid semester. Difficulty level was above average.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The most difficult situation that a student will face in architecture is taking a 6 hour architectural design paper with no breaks what so ever. The degree is itself is quite hectic and no matter how much you manage it, sleepless nights before submission awaits you. Plus, you will have 3-4 submissions every week.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose architecture because it is very creative and we could express our feelings though it. It provides us the understanding of various things like how a building structure formed and how it works ,how we should prevent a building from falling in natural disaster etc

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is very old and outdated. They are still making assignments on cartridge sheets. I would suggest the incorporation of modern technologies like CAD, Photoshop, etc. from the first semester only. We are learning bookish knowledge but not getting any hands-on practice or observing practical work on-site.

No reason at all. Faculty was nice at first but not anymore. The only good thing maybe it has big gardens. But nothing else at all. Very partial. Attendance is a burden here.

No, the college does not provide us with internships. We have to get our own internships and generally there is no stipend.
