Remarks :
I had only applied to IIMs and IIT Kanpur. Apart from that I had also applied for SIBM Pune and SCMHRD Pune. However it was a dream for me to get into the IIMs, hence that was the reason I didn't take admission in SCMHRD. I was in the waiting list of SIBM Pune with a WL number of 990, hence I was unable to make the cut. Out of the IIMs, I secured offers towards the end in IIM Sambalpur, Jammu, Sirmaur and Bodh Gaya. I was rejected in other IIMs and IIT Kanpur. I was in the General or Unreserved Category hence didn't avail any quota. For getting selected in the CAP round conducted by the 9 IIMs, the sectional cutoff was 70 percentile for all 3 while the overall cutoff was 93 percentile. The process conducted of the CAT exam, the single online PI round for the 9 IIMs and the merit list/waiting list. The interview process took around 15-20 mins with questions ranging from General Affairs, UG studies, hobbies to management related questions were asked.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course because of various factors: 1) Coming from an engineering background, I already had some exposure to technical knowledge but I wanted to gain holistic knowledge before setting foot into the corporate life, hence I felt MBA was the foundation pillars for that goal 2) Being a fresher, I had the touch of studying every day for my UG, so I wanted to keep the same enthusiasm and let it fuse out hence I pursued it as soon as possible The student-to-faculty ratio is around 8:1 or 9:1. The faculties are highly qualified with many of them having completed their MBA from old IIMs and are holding PhDs from Ivy League business schools. The teaching method is one of a kind, which is a perfect blend of traditional and modern methods. Currently, I have completed Term-1 and completed my exams. So can't comment about the difficulty.
Internships Opportunities :
A lot of companies come with various lucrative stipends as well as lucrative roles for the students. Also, various companies come for offering live projects to students. Some of the past recruiters offering internship opportunities are Google, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, etc. The names of the companies can be found out in the summer placements report on the website.
Placement Experience :
The campus placements are of 2 types. For the first-year students, it's called Summer Placements where the students are selected by companies and these students go on to pursue a 2-month internship with them. The final year students get full-time offers and their placements are called Final Placements.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees structure is 13.03 lakhs for the complete two-year PGP program spread across all 6 trimesters which is inclusive of the hostel and mess fees. Various scholarships are offered to students like Government scholarships, OPJindal Scholarship, etc. I didn't get any scholarships as I was not qualified for any.
Campus Life :
Until now, I haven't been to the campus hence it won't be wise for me to comment on this subject. However, once I go to the campus and gain some experience on these questions I will revert back and answer them with honesty.
Hostel Facilities :
I would like to again answer the same as in the last question. It's unwise and dishonest for me to comment on the questions on which I have not yet have had an experience. So, I would answer this with due diligence once I get the needed exposure.
Interview Experience :
Yes, the written test was the CAT examination held on 29th November 2020 and then I went through a PI process conducted in an online medium due to the pandemic. The PI process was around 15-20 mins on average. It contained questions ranging from GK to UG subjects to Management related questions to Hobby related ones. My interview experience was below average as I couldn't answer the management-related questions which they asked and thus they grilled me more on this and I couldn't meet their expectations. For the interviews, I prepared by taking 1-2 mock interviews with the help of my friends and watched many interview videos of 2IIM on youtube. Hence, I would recommend the aspirants to go through every material and the kits sent by the IIMs after one gets shortlisted.
