Entrance Preview :

Entrance Examination GATE 2015 (Graduate Aptitude test in Engineering). My Score: 634(out of 1000) and rank 1334. I opted this college because when i studied about top five NIT colleges. I found out that this college provides good technology experience along with practical work for almost all the courses. Most important thing is this colleges provides good placement opportunities in comparison to other top NIT's.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Course curriculum is very carefully designed and focus is on the practical aspect of the course.In our department(Computer Science and Engineering) there are around 50 LABS in total for Under grade students. I am in Post graduate program. In PG there are 4 semester for 2 years. in the first year we need to do classroom study and in second year we focus on research work and taking labs of Under grade students.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, MNNIT provides internship for Under grade and MCA students but not M.Tech students. Stipend is generally between 30000 to 35000 per months. Internship experience is good often students are placed in those companies itself after the Internship. Following are some of the companies hire for internship. MAQ Software, Amazon, Adobe systems, Prop tiger.

Placement Experience :

Around 90 companies have visited our campus so for the placements. Around 100% placements is achieved for Computer Science and IT students.

College Events :

There is AVISHKAR in which students showcase the technical innovations.India’s biggest technical, quizzing and cultural fests, a platform to exhibit your creativity and capabilities (connections with seniors).

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I don't know much about Loans but there is SBI SCHOLAR LOAN for MNNIT students. Scholarship: There is Scholarship for PG students being provided by MHRD. Details of which is as follow M.Tech Students rs. 12400 per Month, PhD students: Rs 25000 per months.

Campus Life :

Gender ratio: it changes year to year. but i will tell rough idea. in a class of 100 students there are around 30 girls. There are Lots of Workshop for students who wants to do something different. On an average we can say there is 1 workshop per week for whole year.

Alumni/Alumna :

There is Annual Alumni meet in our college in which alumni who are at high positions come and share their experiences. Alumni also help in our placements by calling companies for the college placements. There is good Senior junior interaction in our college.

Exam Structure :

There is a Mid Term test and a semester exam for every course. And this LABS for practical subjects.LABS are generally 2 LABS per week. Apart from these are surprise Quiz in classroom. I will not say it is hectic because still we get lot of time for ourselves.

Admission :

First i took GATE 2015 Exam of which notification comes in September month and exam generally holds in Last week of January every year.From GATE Admission in M.Tech is taken in NIT's and IIT's. Then Online Counselling is taken in which we have to fill choice for the colleges and respective branches. Then college is allotted according to the rank of the candidate.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement like 2 months summer intern, 6 months intern + full time can be offered by companies, Most student get full time opportunity through 2 month summer intern Students having offer for intern are eligible for full time also since cahncea of ppo is not consider as their offer Sometimes offer revoked student get additional support for next one year through college for placement, student getting offer for package can again apply for 2x offer if new company visit for twice the offer Generally package are within 15-20 lpa for ece, cse and electrical student and psu also visit for offer direct through interview so many opportunity are given to student than expected

Mostly i came to know that in post graduates their are less chance as most of the placements focus is on graduate level students. Masters in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur in 2023-2035

Placement Experience:

During the third semester of the master of technology, students are eligible to sit in campus placements. In the Electrical Engineering Department most of the top semiconductor companies like Intel qualcomm, micron, Texas instruments, onsemi, cadence, amd visited this year. Number of offers made is 80 out of 140 candidates. The highest package is 49 LPA by Qualcomm. 60 per cent got placed this year due to poor market conditions. I am going to work in a semiconductor company after completing my degree.

THE BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS OF IIT KANPUR

Placement Experience:

Placements of IITK are very good. Even during recession the average package was 15lpa. Highest package was 60lpa and lowest was 12lpa. If someone is not getting placed then professors help in their own domain. After degree, I am planning to work in a product based company after degree.
