Remarks
I applied for DU and IPU, I wasn't able to get admission to DU because of my low rank, so IP was my hope now. I got a decent rank in IPU CET and was able to get my very first preference, VIPS. The admission criteria of the BBA program in IPU is through an entrance exam, i.e. IPU CET. The students which are aspiring for the top 3 colleges must get a rank of 3000 or below. My rank was below 1200, so I got admission in VIPS in the 1st round only. After your selection in the college, you get a confirmation mail, they provide you with the details and all, after that you have to go to the college, provide them with your documents and pay the fees. and here you go.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose BBA because I love business subjects and I love Business. You should be clear before choosing your course as it is the thing which you are going to spend your next 3 years in. The faculty is nice, teachers in VIPS are so supportive and understanding. They don't put much pressure on students. The teaching method is however nowadays online so I haven't experienced any offline lectures but the way they teach online is pretty nice. Term exams were online too, they were objective type, and passing them wasn't a big deal.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, there are many internship opportunities provided to the students from 1st year itself. Students should apply for them according to their interests and should learn new things. In my case I applied for a stock market-based internship, it was a month-long internship and was so much exciting. I got to learn some good strategies and the work we had to do was to open Demat accounts as much as possible with their broker. It was a non- stipend based internship. Many companies offer internships like finskool, rainberry, etc. Students must not only rely on the college internships, they should also explore internships online like on LinkedIn, Internshala, etc.
Placement Experience
I have heard from our seniors that placements start from the 2nd-3rd year. I am currently in my 1st year so I don't have much idea about the same. Though the college provides many internships starting from every 1st year, it's up to the students whether to take it or not. they provide stipend-based too and non-stipend-based too. The HIghest package as of me is the value of a student. his/her skills, personality is what that matters. As a student, you must place your focus on developing your skills, your personality.
Fees and Financial Aid
As it is a semi-government university, the fees are high, but not high as compared to the fully private colleges like symbiosis, etc. The BBA program fee is around 3,20,000 (3 years). I personally find this too high as due to COVID we are being provided with online classes, we are not using the infrastructure of the college, not using electricity and all still we are paying 1 lakh per annum. I find it disgusting. The fee should be reduced by 40-50% as many families are going through a financial crisis too. there are many reduction policies for the BPL category.
Campus Life
Recently TEDX was held in VIPS college which is a cool thing. Many renowned personalities came to share their experiences of life. Students learn from them and get inspired, which is a good thing. The college not only fills our academic needs but provides overall development to its students. There are many societies where students can participate in accordance with their interests. The classes are fully air-conditioned and equipped with smart boards. Talking about sports, I myself is a Table Tennis player but I don't know about the college team and all because of online classes.
