NIRALA KUMAR 's Review On Goa Institute Of Management - [GIM], North Goa

Remarks :

It was good collage with very good learning experience.

Entrance Preview :

I had appeared for CAMT exam in which I scored 230 Marks as GIM is among top 20 MBA college in India secondly PGDM-HCM (Health care management ) course had the best curriculum.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum was very much refined, though I was student of pioneering batch. Still the curriculum was better then TISS and IHHMR. It was more focused and industry oriented. Case studies, live projects and Filed trips and tons of assignments. Second year was mostly focused on Industry requirements.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes My college had mandatory Internship provision of 3 months stipends were offered to students varying from 5000 INR to 2000 INR. Companies like Fortis Hospital, Medanta Hospital, ColumbiaAsia Hospital, HGS Hinduja Group, EY , MSF.

Placement Experience :

Placement were good but not phenomenally great. Almost all the batch was placed with offers starting from 4 Lakhs to 12 Lakhs. Companies like CTS, EY, Fortis, Wockhart Hospital, Narayana Health, Capgemini, Abbott and Major NGOs. Their were other companies also which I don't recall now.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee was relatively expensive for normal PGDM -12 lakhs for PGDM- Health care Management 6.75 Lakhs however ROI was good it was expensive for below normal class population trimester system was there. With a total 6 trimester with an additional dissertation cum Internship.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes scholarship was awardee to few students loan facilities was there with collaboration with two banks yes one of my friend has availed a scholarship of 4 lakhs.

Campus Life :

Campus life was good with all required arrangements and facilities gender ratio was excellent almost 45:55 male to female ratio. Playground with swimming pool students form 17 different states was there in my batch mostly students from rich families were there almost students from all religions were there.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel was compulsory. Hotel life was good It was a co-ad hostel for boys and girls not much restriction for group studies had facilities for playing and parking food was good to a certain extent how ever mostly students used to go outside for food. As it was Goa. Life was good in hostel with very little restriction.

Alumni/Alumna :

GIM alumni network is deeply rooted in industry alumni network had good connect with college they are very useful in campus placements and lateral placements.

Exam Structure :

Exam had various components 40 % weightage was given for written exam 30 % assignments and other submission 20 % class participation 10 % overall participation trimester system was there. With a total 6 trimester with an additional dissertation cum Internship.

For 1st year most of the faculty was In-house faculty were good with very impressive credentials. 1st year all the faculty of general PGDM taught. 2nd Year it was a mix of In-house and Industry expert faculty. Experts for respective industry were called to taught all the subjects in second year.
