A walkthrough of Assam Institute of Management

Remarks :

I had applied for various colleges before getting into 2 years full-time MBA program. However, I chose to go for Assam Institute of Management because I didn't want to leave my home city for some reason. I didn't have any quota for admission. I went through step by step process before getting selected. The first step was getting eligible to apply for MBA Program at AIM which was having a sufficient CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT Score. I had given my MAT score. The minimum percentile for MAT in AIM is 75%ile. The second step was Group Discussion, where, the class group was 8 people per GD. The third step was a Personal Interview.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose this course because I wanted to go to the corporate field. An MBA is considered a desirable degree if you opt to go to the corporate field. The faculty members in AIM are superb and are very friendly. The learning experience in AIM is very awesome. All faculty members are well qualified and have PhD in their respective fields. The teaching method is conventional. However, there is a lot of scope for improvement of practical approach in the college. Exams are conducted on a trimester basis. This means in a tenure of 2 Years students need to appear for 6 examinations in total. Exams are not difficult at all to pass. The faculty members provide very nice mentorship and educate the students well before any exams.

Internships Opportunities :

ICICI, HDFC, Asian Paints, and some more companies give internship opportunities to the students of AIM where few get selected for PPOs also. Students are enrolled in different areas of projects. The stipend is handy as it is not too less or not too much.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for placement after the 4th Trimester. Companies like HDFC, Asian Paints, ICICI banks and securities, SBI life and some more visit the AIM campus. The highest package is 7.5 lakhs and the lowest is 3.6 lakhs. 100% of students get placed in AIM.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

During my tenure which was from 2019-21, the fees for the two-year program were 4,05,000 rupees for two years. You can get internship opportunities while studying in college. Students can opt for education loans to study in this college.

Campus Life :

AIM conducts many events on campus. The Library is well equipped with books. Classrooms have an AC facility and a projector and a screen. AIM conducts sports week every year where students can participate in different sports.

Interview Experience :

Yes, I had to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. One must go through 3 processes before getting selected at AIM. 1st Process- Getting Sufficient Score in Entrance Examination 2nd Process- Appearing for Group Discussion 3rd Process- Appearing for personal Interview.
