Jupitara Baruah's Review On Assam Institute Of Management - [AIM], Guwahati

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum at AIM was beyond perfect for an average student too; this is because the methodology adopted for explaining the subjects made the problematic topics look like a piece of cake. The regular evaluation of our aptitude and knowledge by conducting exams helped us to work accordingly. And honestly, at times it got a bit too hectic, but now when I travel back into time, I realize that those efforts made by the College highly benefited us.

Placement Experience :

The institution has tied up with various prominent recruiters all over the world to provide the best job opportunities for their emerging talents. Many recruiters were like Kotak, Induslnd bank, Cafe coffee day, Loreal, Axis bank etc. used to visit our College every year to hire the students The package provided after recruitment was like the dreams coming true for many. Those placement sessions not only helped us with our jobs but also helped us in blooming our personalities.

College Events :

The freshman's social and AIM Quest were the most awaited events not only for the students but also for the professors of AIM. We all used to be excited because during those rehearsals, decorations, backstage work etc. we learnt that working with your friends and professors turns work into a fun activity. Many esteem guests were invited to attend those events, and their positive reactions towards our work gave us a sense of satisfaction.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure was highly feasible as compared to many private institutions which offer this course. I am saying this with conviction because I paid INR 60,000 only for the two-year course of mine which in my opinion is a highly reasonable amount. It also offers various scholarships and loan facilities as an easy to avail option.

Campus Life :

Extracurricular activities help the body to attain physical, mental and social health effectively. For encouraging these activities, many seminars were organized within the institution for the students as well as for the faculty. The industrial trips like at TISCO and other institutional visits helped a lot in analyzing our interests and gaining new experiences.

Hostel Facilities :

I might fall short of words for describing the memories I made during my life as a hosteler. The rooms were tidy and spacious, and the hygienic food of the mess felt like home. The outdoor and indoor options for activities helped me to follow a particular routine for a healthy life.

Alumni/Alumna :

We have an efficient and robust alumni network to keep a bond between the students and the institution. The senior students were always keen to help us out whether in studies or any other activities. The constant interactions with the seniors helped us to correct our mistakes by learning from their experiences and gaining knowledge about various fields.

Admission :

I passed out from AIM 2 years ago. This institution played an integral part in my personality building and gaining experience for my future. I thank my friend for suggesting AIM, and for all the other assistance provided by him and his family. I got into this institution based on the merit list. By completing all the required documentation and interview procedure, I was warmly welcomed by the institution.

Faculty :

The faculty of our institution were more like friends to us as they were easily approachable and always at their toes to help us with proper guidance and support to achieve our goals. They all are well versed in their subjects as they were efficiently trained and for gaining more knowledge, they used to attend various international conferences. This knowledge and their passion for teaching were reflected when they taught us.

From 3rd semester students are eligible for campus placements and can apply to the companies they wish to. Some of the companies that I remember right now are PWC, KPMG, axis bank, ujjivan bank, Vodafone idea, pantaloons, Bajaj Allianz, Tata AIG, Flipkart, etc. The highest package was of PWC. The average package of the placements were around 350000 -400000 per annum. More 70% of the students were placed and some of the students didn't want jobs as they were interested in further studies.
