Remarks :
The management is supportive. There is always someone to listen to your views or complaints.
Entrance Preview :
Admission through AIEEE, I Scored 81000 AIR. Reason for opting this college was that it was review as best private engineering institution in Uttarakhand by seniors and i felt they were right after sending 4 years at DIT. The fee structure is worth what is offered.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Course structure is well balanced that offers not only technical knowledge but also enough opportunities for grooming once personality. The Administration has made sure that practical experience and modern tools of technical world are made art of the curriculum. However some more work need to be done in the direction of research.
Internships Opportunities :
Internship is something that does not exist in DIT. You have to make your own arrangements even for the summer training which is mandatory in the course.
Placement Experience :
There are jobs for almost everyone. But satisfactory jobs are limited for a few. The placement numbers are high but these are mainly in IT sector only. For IT industry there are enough opportunities with Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant being regular recruiters. Other than these Amazon, Adobe and IVY also offer enough chances if you are a hard worker. But placements are limited for core branches. With two or three companies visiting a very few land up with so called core jobs, rest all fall for IT companies.
College Events :
The college celebrates a whole lot of events which include both technical and cultural events. Engineers day celebrations, deshprem mahotsav are some of them. The Techno Cultural fest Youthopia spread over 3 days is a center of attraction every year.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fee structure is worth what you get when you compare it with any other private college providing similar aspects, There are enough scholarships for meritorious students and rebates for those with low family income. Special concessions are given to students who are residents of Uttarakhand state.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are enough scholarships for meritorious students and rebates for those with low family income. Special concessions are given to students who are residents of Uttarakhand state.
Campus Life :
Gender ratios are equal in Computer and IT Branches but its mainly boys if you talk about the branches like Mechanical and civil. Events like robowars, debates, quizzes etc. are common in the college. The college has teams that represent it at National and International level events in Vehicle design events.
Hostel Facilities :
Rooms in hostels are under capacity. The rooms are shared when students are in first year and then they are single rooms with basic requirements. The shared rooms help freshers as they might feel homesick otherwise. Food is of average quality. There are a number of indoor games facilities and also a gym inside the hostel campus.
Alumni/Alumna :
The seniors are very helpful. But the alumni network has not been very strong, The management has been working on it for two years now at it is getting better now.
Exam Structure :
Exams are a little hectic. There are two mid-term exams and then a final semester exam and then there are class test in between and all that is in a single semester spread just over 4.5 months. The mid terms have enough importance as the final semester exams and as a matter of fact attendance and assignments also count.
Admission :
My Admission was based on AIEEE ranking through Uttarakhad Technical University Centralized Counselling. You have to fill out the counselling forms online which are available after AIEEE result. Submitt your preferences for branch and then seats are allocated according to merit and with consideration to choice. Once desired branch is allocated go to the college with all the documents and admission fees and get yourself registered.
Faculty :
DIT has a mix bag of faculties. There are a number of them from IITs & NITs as well. There are long experience holders who can make you understand basics of engineering very well and there are fresh M.Techs who have enough exposure to modern technology.
