Remarks :

After reading the curriculum of the program and how they structured it, I was immediately drawn towards it to further my expertise in the Data Science domain. The IIT Madras brand value speaks for itself. The college divided the curriculum into 3 zones. Foundation level, Diploma Level and Degree level. Each level has it's own curriculum carefuly curated to dive methodically into the Data Science domain. The college also offered a list of multiple Open Electives related to programming and Computer Science which are at par with knowledge required at Industry Level.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is skillfully crafted and prepared to best encourage and teach the students and ensure maximum learning.The content provided is easy to grasp and explained with top-notch proficiency. Our content coordinator is extremely resourceful and very approachable. The Faculty is extremely cooperative and involved with students. We have weekly industrial meets that enable us to get in touch with Tech Leaders in various Computer Science companies and other tech related domains. College also has a very active Alma connect (meetings with alumnis of IIT Madras).

Class Size : 400Course Fees : INR 240000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

ACM summer school internships.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible to apply for internships after completing the Diploma level of the examination and can also sit for placements then as they can choose to exit the program with a diploma in Data Science and Programming. I am currently in the foundation level of the examination and plan on graduating with a B.Sc. degree in Data Science and Programming. The placements for the program look extremely promising.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The college tuition is extremely affordable with 4000 INR per subject, per semester. There is scholarship available for students with family income under 5LPA INR. Financial assistance is also available for those in need provided they attach verified documents to justify their need to seek financial help.

Campus Life :

Thanks to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, Online mode of Education is being pursued. Clubs and Houses are active and online events have been planned and some have been organized.So far, an E-Cultural fest has been successfully completed, along with a hackathon. I assume campus life would be an amazing experience. We had a virtual orientation and a virtual campus tour as well.

Admission :

Qualifier exam organized by IIT Madras which is based on JAM entrance exam guidelines. Enrolled students are required to score more than or equal to 50% in 4 subejcts ( Mathematics for Data Scienc level 1, Statistics for Data Science level1, Conputational Thinking, English level 1. Overall percentage cut-off for General Category is 40%( Combined score of all 4 aubjects). I scored 70%.

Average college but a good place to study on your own

Placement Experience:

The campus placements start in the 7th semester. Due to the recession, there is a lot of backlash when it comes to placements. It has been quite poor for the last few years. But it depends on how the student is prepared for the competitive world.

Placement Experience:

Students who pursuing five and sixth semesters onwards are eligible to attend the placements and internship. Mostly the IT companies are visited frequently and core companies are low. The Highest package is 9LPA. The percentage of college placement is 78 percent. I planned to make higher studies after my degree.

Be detailed, specific and honest

Placement Experience:

Placements in our college are not as good as you expect from a B-School. The highest salary package offered to be 20 LPA, and most of us are to console with a salary package ranging from 6 to 7 LPA. However, almost 95% of the students got placed, but it was noticed that some of them got salary packages ranging from 4 to 5 LPA, and even some got lower than that.

Super food, environment is super even compared with higher education.

Admission:

I got admission in this college through counseling which is the regular annual engineering counseling conducted by the anna university which is the common organization for all engineering organizations among the state. The counseling is purely based upon the cutoff marks scored by the students. I got admission in 07. 07. 2016. I chose this college because of the suggestion given by the neighbors. On before that, i've chosen engineering because i didn't got enough score for medical course.
