All you want to know about ADBU

ER

Remarks :

• I applied in Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi School Of Mass Communication and Journalism (Delhi University) , all of these had entrance exams and could not make to any of the colleges. • No I didn't avail for any quota. • The admission was based on the Personal Interview which was conducted in physical mode and there after the admission was done. • The admission process was easy and less critical ,admission was done on the basis of interview which included all the questions related to my field i.e mass communication.

Course Curriculum Overview :

• I had a great interest in field of media, I always loved talking and so I choose this exploring field of mass communication and I also applied for the same course in most of the colleges previously. • I must write this here that our department really has the most coolest and understanding faculties and the students, my super seniors, immediate seniors, juniors and my batchmates we all share a warm relationship and try to connect and together are a family away from home. • We have currently 5 faculties and each of them are expertise in their main subject and I would review the teaching method 4* out of 5 *. •Our Term exams were on time and mostly the theory papers are of 100 marks and practical ones 50 marks. Seriously you don't have to struggle if you are an average student but if you really want to score decent marks you need to study hard for that.

Internships Opportunities :

I got an opportunity to intern as Radio Jockey from Radio Salesian, Darjeeling and it was of one month, unpaid but I learned a lot from my stay there. Secondly, I got an internship in The Sentinel, a newspaper Guwahati branch, to intern as a content writer, so both of these were unpaid but was really helpful to me. I recorded 2 shows for the radio station and went live for a week and as a content writer I wrote job vacancies and articles for the paper.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The yearly admission is divided into semesters so we need to pay for each semesters, as of my batch of 2019 ,we had 40,000 for each semester. I didn't get any scholarships but you can if you scored 90 or above in your 12th ,you need to apply with the admission form and then you will be eligible to avail it. Secondly, you can apply for the semester scholarship, which you will be only eligibile for when you are the topper of that semester and you continue to maintain that CGPA. There are no on campus jobs but you will surely get financial assistance as you can request for installment payments and dealt payments with no fine.

Campus Life :

The campus life is what we usually dream about, of course, there are time restrictions but then you get a whole lot of new experiences which you cherish for your lifetime. The annual fest, the Boscociad is a 1-week event that included everything from sports to ramp walking to dance music competitions and many more exciting events. Boscociad is mostly conducted in the Feb /March month. The second most awaited event is the Convocation which is a heartwarming day but you get a lot to learn whether you are volunteering or being a part of it. The library is a peaceful place to chatter with course books mostly every book has 3/4 copies makes it accessible. Every classroom has projector and green boards . We have a indoor badminton court and table tennis court and outdoor 2 basket ball courts and a large foot ball ground. Every evening there's a hustle in field with students playing makes it more amazing. There are official instagram pages handled by both faculties and students .

Hostel Facilities :

Our rooms are pretty large and so we have 4 members in each room, fully furnished rooms with 4 fans one for each one of us. And the study table attached to the bed plus 1drawer,2 slots below it, and a cupboard with 3 slots. Currently, we have 3 canteens as the college is very large each near hostels, the canteen provides 3-time meals and you have to buy a couple each time you eat, there are different departments selling Indian, Chinese, Tribal food and many more. So the food money is not included in the hostel fees, you can even buy bulk coupons for the whole month. The registration is done once you take admission by the Head Warden of Hostel, you need to fill a form and then pay the fees. There is no PG near the college but once you are on the highway you can get some PGs and rented rooms.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose philosophy as my major course as I want to learn about the things we experienced and the way they are the curriculum prepares me well enough to overcome in my day-to-day life I haven't faced any need for improvement in the teaching method. Exams were indeed a difficult task as a student, we hardly had a week to prepare ourselves for the examination.

Course Curriculum Overview:

history is interlinked with all subjects. It describes the social formation, decision and mistakes that shapes the world. it gives moral values and mistakes that shouldn't be carried out again. The subject is very interesting and should be considered once.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose BA because of peer pressure, but it wasn't so bad because you can go in any direction. Real world application isn't a thing of the course. But it can help you if you want to study further. Classes have digital boards, that's a plus. Each semester consists of 1 sessional exam and 1 final exam.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course is of 3 year long duration. There's a total of 14 papers and each semester we get specific papers according to our sem ( ex: sociology of religion, sociology of gender, kingship, stratification, etc.) + we have a Generic subject. With generic in every semester we had a compulsory subject with our honors and Generic, indeed it was something new that we learned.

Course Curriculum Overview:

About the course curriculum, I still wonder why they have to put science subjects on the course curriculum of arts students. They would say it's a basic course but it is definitely not. Those arts students came there to learn their main subjects. I think it is unnecessary to put sc subjects there plus it is not basic. Otherwise the main subjects' curriculum is pretty well organised and planned.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like the subject english that is why I chose this course, I'm studying ba in English and i will do post graduation in also english, but in our department student teacher relationship is not good enough, I can't communicate with my department's professor as much. The other problem is last year we gave 3 semesters exams together in a year which should be held after 6months, I would like to request the authorities to give concern about that.
