An honest review for GIMT, Guwahati

Remarks :

Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of management and technology or call it GIMT is a type of college where u just want to go if u have no other options or you don't have any goals or fixed standards for your education. I also went to see a better college Royal global but didn't go for it coz it was far from home and its fees also seemed high. So, I applied online for GIMT BCA course for no certain reason and got admission just on the basis of my 12th percentage (even though my % was as low as possible 52% only). They only had about 30 seats and me and a friend of mine registered at the beginning and soon enough seats were full, I don't know how but they increased the seats and admitted 50 students (it's just to show this is possible in this college if a person has applied late). Education here is just fine, teachers work hard to educate and conduct some lab(practical) classes too. Co-curricular activities are held twice or thrice a year in the form of saraswati puja and euphism.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose BCA for no certain reason but because I liked computers and wanted to learn some of its languages. Faculty here educate just fine considering in my class students are a bit more than that of other courses. Most of the faculty members are qualified for master's degrees and a few are just diplomas. But all of them teach just fine but some are extraordinary. Exams are held regularly in the form of class tests n practicals and they are a bit easy to get full marks but end-semester examinations are tough and are conducted in a proper manner.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is good if you do not consider online classes. In my course (BCA) per sem fee is about 20000, and is cheap considering a college which has approx all facilities. one can get a scholarship if they have a good score or percentage in 12th class and in jee exams too. They should not take the same fees in online classes but it's fine in condition BCA or BBA but not for B.tech. Jobs are not easy for one passing out from this college and a few can get campus jobs as per my info.

Campus Life :

Annual fests are awesome I know that. It's called Euphism. Life at the campus is good, some seniors call to ask names personal info but it's not ragging. Infrastructure is just fine considering the fees of courses. No clubs no social groups that I know of.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course BCA is mainly derived with computers and their works. From my school days computers have always fascinated me in various ways which led to choosing this course in my current college. I'm very grateful for the teachers here who always provide us with best education as possible. I wished there could be some digi board study facilities for better educational improvements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I just took admission because I am general category students and didn't get any government college. So I just wanted to get a degree from a college with low fees. I took BCA because I wanted to work in the IT Sector and I knew if I develop skills then I can get a job no matter my college degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took BBA course which is private department of our college. As per my experience it's a good course and professional course with good and smart teacher . I took bba as the course as many scope in future . The curriculum of our college specially on exam are regularly held within a month including both 50 and 100 marks . And they prefer student to interact with them through power point presentation, project, assignments etc . The exam level increase gradually with the syllabus from easy to medium to hard.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had a little bit of interest in computers from my childhood. When I grew up the interest is increased a little bit more. After completing my HS I decided to take admission in the Computer science program. Then one of my friends suggested me to take admitted to Madhab Choudhary college, BARPETA for the BCA course. Our faculty : student ratio is 1:15 . Our Both two facilities had completed master degree course in Computer Application . I will not say that they are give their best to teach us but they are good in teaching . After every 5 month they conduct sessional exam . And the final exam is held in every six month of period . There is little bit moderate to pass the examination .
