Remarks :
I applied for some other colleges other than panimalary, the main reason for not joining them was they were a bit costly compared to this college. SRM was one of the colleges to which I applied to and could join the course as I couldn't afford it. The student who applies for the course must be atleast the age of 17 and must have scored 50% in the higher secondary exams conducted by the government.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I didn't have many choices to select from many that college offered. I had my mind set to choose mechanical engineering. The students to faculty ratio is about 10:1 and the teachers are a minimum post-graduate. Teachers use various methods to teach, they provide notes, project the topics that are about to teach and explain it. Exams are conducted at monthly basis, at 2 or 3 internal exams per semester.
Placement Experience :
The college provides a good amount of placement for the students. Even though the mechanical engineering students get placed at the rate of 75 to 80% every year, other department students have a higher percentage of placement with above 90%. The students can also avail placement after completing the course for one year, in which even I got placement in a company.
Fees and Financial Aid :
The fee for the government quota students is on the lower side when compared to management quota students, but the other equally standard colleges collect more fees for management students than this college. The fee doesn't hike in the due of study of course. Students can apply for loans and scholarships.
Campus Life :
Students form groups in the college and do productive things like doing projects and participate in competitions conducted all over the country. Students have been victorious in many events like these. There is a big centralized AC library in the college. The library contains all books that students can lend and use them. Also it holds project journals for reference usage.
