Entrance Preview :

AIEEE 2011, AIR 11841, SR-158 i opted for nit rourkela because i wanted a core branch and i had very poor IIT JEE rank and it was near my home so the same and the best Indian Govt. top 10 engineering college.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Research is Quite high for the ones who go for it the institute has ample opportunities to explore for you can make your project in wide areas and varsities. Curricula varies with your respective area of study and focuses on the departments & branches. For eg. I was in Electrical i chose to get electives like DSP-digital Image Processing , CN- Computer Networks & of HS- Communication English.You can choose as per your interest and the institute is expanding more in terms of academic today.

Internships Opportunities :

Every year NIT Rourkela offers 50 paid internships to students across the country. The Internship period will be for 2 months. Usually the internships are offered during summer. Selected candidates will get financial assistantship. In addition to these a number of short term courses are conducted to students of various institutes for advance learning and career guidance.

Constitution: SAC Management, Technical Society, Games & Sports Society, Film & Music Society, Literacy & Cultural Society SPIC MACAY Chapter FESTS celebrated every year :- Spring Fest-Cultural Festival, Tech Fest 2014 - INNOVISION- Technical, ISM- Internationa Students Meet Participation is huge people from all over world comes thousands of students come and chill out wit our exquisite festivals it's cool to celebrate with friends & family too.

I myself being an alumna can describe aptly my experiences and give a concrete helpful review of what above all i wrote honestly to the best of my knowledge College alumni and seniors are quite helpful and trustworthy i myself got my paid summer internship during the end of my pre-final year with the link of my senior you get to learn many new and awesome things by interactions with them about the companies,placement trends,professors & subjects, corporate and arising scenarios and how to be matured enough to handle every practical situations boldly it changes you for positive learn & grow.

Exam Structure :

It depends on year & branch wise .But overall not such hectic labs or classes.You can bunk in former years but with process you start learning life along with formal decent education.You chill & enjoy life of those graduation years which you carry in your heart forever.Surely you will cherish for your lifetime the unforgettable memories you take it with you. There are all examination schemes for mains & labs, summers, supplementary. As usual college GPA system out of 10 point scale.

Admission :

Admission to all B.Tech courses are made through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE(Main)). The counseling for this is done by Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). Additionally the Institute offers integrated M.Sc and M.Tech degree which are of 5 years duration. Admission to 5 years integrated programs are made from JEE(Main) or similar National level test, along with the admission for B.Tech.

From the 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements where they have to show their skills to the interviews in order to get placement. The name of the companies visited are Infosys, Oracle, Dalmia, Tata. The average package the companies give is around 3 to 4 lacs. My plan after getting the degree is to already settle by getting a placement.

According to seniors , placements are good and decent comparing to other nits . After 6 semester , company are hiring for placements . Many companies has visited more than enough . Highest package I seen in 23 is 1.12 CR in rubrik from senior . My plans after degree is doing sde job at company.

Reality of GIFT college

Placement Experience:

Placements! Once upon a time in year 2016-17 Amazon, Oracle etc used to come... Now all are just less paying startups who select for 3,4,4.5 lpa on average Yeah some get 9-10lpa if they are really good, opportunities are always there for good students, but not more than this... If you're dreaming a 13,15,20,50lpa package, don't wake up, it's not possible in real life here (atleast till now)

This college provides a good environment for professional study. I got alloted to the college through my entrance mark so i chose it. It was my dream to study Electrical engineering but i didn't got the branch in any other college and i got the department over here so i thought it would be better to study here

Various companies visit our campus for recruitment. Among those companies the name of some big companies are TATA, INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, JINDAL, LNT. For being able to sit in the interview for any campus a student must have scored a minimum of 7 cgpa and must have good communication skills. In my knowledge there is no big startup by our batch.
