Entrance Preview :
I gave UPSEAT exam. My rank were not good its was somewhere in 5K waiting list. I have the domicile of Uttranchal so i was only eligible for a free seat in Uttranchal college. I do not want to go for paid seat. So i opted DIT as it the best private college that time. Total college in Uttranchal was 5 out of which 3 were govt college.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Curriculum was well designed by UPTU. 1st year is same for all the branches be it IT, CSE, Electrical, mechanical etc. Its good that an engineer should know each and every thing even if its not of his\her area. After 1st year each branch has it own course.
Internships Opportunities :
No. This college does not provide internship. Not sure of present scenario. We have to search our own for the internship. There were one exception they provide it for Mechanical branch. They have tie up with BHEL Haridwar were most of the mechanical guys did intern.
Placement Experience :
Let me talk about CSE and IT first. 2 or 3 companies came for IT placement. Out of them only 1 were mid size company and recruited 6 person. Rest 2 other companies only took 4. so overall 10 people got placed out of 300 people. IN other branch there were no placement. But after 2007 i heard most of the companies are coming to the college for the placement.
College Events :
So the first induction program were conducted and they walked us through the faculty provided by the college. Followed by the interaction with the seniors. At the end of the 1st year a get together were conducted for the 1st and 2nd year branch. Every year they celebrate College feast .
Fee Structure And Facilities :
It was feasible that time if you have admission in free seat. For free seat it was 19K + 3K . Whereas in paid seat it was costly i.e. 68 + 3K. Later they have changed the fees structure and made it uniform. College also have some management seats reserved for NRI.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
College does not provide any scholarship or loan that time. Scholarship were provided by university and that to for higher studies not for the undergraduate courses i believe.
Campus Life :
Campus life was good. Hostel was there with all the modern facilities available. Till evening students were in college and later they go for some outdoor games. You were not bound with the Dos and Do not list. In the night there were restriction to go out. You need prior permission form warden for night out.
Exam Structure :
They follow the guidelines provided by the UPTU full course is divided into 8 semester. During each semester 3 internal exam were conducted and marks of best 2 exam were taken for giving the internal marks. Although there were other weighted of attendance, project for giving internal marks as well. At the end of the semester external exam were conducted and paper was set by the university.
Admission :

Counselling were happened in Lucknow as Utttranchal does not his own University by this tme. I have the domicile of Uttranchal so i was only eligible for a free seat in Uttranchal college.
Faculty :
Faculty. Dit was new college. Most the faculty were new and if i am correct most of them were graduate. Each semester\year we see lot of faculty leave the college. As we gradually move towards final year seniors faculty were deployed for our course. In engineering most of thing you need to learn by your own. So we were less dependents on the faculty. But they were easy accessible whenever a help were required.
