Tejas Gomase's Review On Government College Of Engineering - [GCE], Chandrapur

Remarks :

The basic reason for choosing this college and university was that It was located in my home town.I did research both online via websites and also by direct contact over many colleges offering various courses at the time of admissions. It had really good reputation at that time.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I did choose Civil engineering because I was always into construction because my father was a builder so I kind of wanted to do the same and also because I liked the work. The faculty was good. There are expert teachers in our college and staff is so friendly and we'll organised according to students needs.Student ratio! well it's kind of male to female students are 60:40 in my class. As I said faculty are well qualified and facilities make students feel more optimistic about their future and they are really friendly with students. So, the term exams are moderate not so difficult and not so easy too. So for the students I'd say that if you even be present at the class online or offline whatever and listen to what teachers are teaching even like for half of the time accurately then you won't have any problem at the time of exams.

Placement Experience :

Basically the students gets elegible for campus placement from 7th sem in our college. Wipro company have been visiting our college for a couple of years and recruiting students from various branches in our college. The average package for the selected students varies from 4 Lakh per annum and the highest might get to 10 to 13 lakh per annum according to our seniors. Percentage of students getting placed are about nearly 10 percent maybe. My plans after college are really simple. I'm going to become a builder and start my own construction company. And with the help of my colleagues I'd become successful in my career.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure is really good actually. And it is also depends on what category you hold because of the category reservation system. So I'm going to consider the fee structure for a Student of OPEN category. So the overall cost would include mainey the college annual fees, rent for living, cost of mess either of outside hotel or from college mess. That would be pretty much everything. And from my experience you would be needing 8000 rupees for monthly cost of living and 120000 annual college fees. There are various scholarships that government offers based on category, merit scores, EWS in my college. Main scholarships include Post matric scholarship for SC/ST/OBC students having good grades, EBC for students of OPEN category having family income less than 5 lakh per annum. And also there are various other scholarships offered in our institute.College offers various projects for the students and also give allowances for the work. It offers experience for the 3rd and final year student basically. College also gives allowances for the project work to be done in various other government sites.

Campus Life :

Life in my college campus is really comforting. We have really large campus filled with natural flora and fauna. and the campus is well organised too.The annual fest happens every year in the month of December and January which is also called as ABHIRANG festival in our college. It includes various sports compition, technological compititions all with very high enthusiasm in the students. It is one of the most memorable days in my college life. Our college library is really great having a lot of required books for every branch students and also have quiet comfortable sitting space. There is construction of new and improved library building going on in other part of our campus. So when it gets complete it would be really huge and improved. We have really great sport's facilities in our college. We have Gym in our college and sports ground for the students. There are some of the apps made by our fellow CS students in our college. This apps are used for ABHIRANG festival for live updates on various compititions going on college campus so the students can even see it from their home if they can't make it.

Admission :

No I didn't have to participate in any group discussion or interview or any written test because the admission criteria was Fully based on the qualifying exam marks and my 12th HSC score mainey in the subjects of Maths, Physics and Chemistry.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As every Diploma passing student enters to degree college same process I went through. The faculty of the college are well educated and hardworking. As a student, you have to reach out to your faculty and maintain a good relation with them to get constant support from them. the ratio is 25:1. The teaching method of professors is very professional. Exams are as per the government regulations and the difficulty level is moderate for general students.

Computer Science is one of the most reputed and most paid branches of Engineering. The course mainly revolves around Software Engineering, Image processing, Mobile Computing, Cyber-Physical system and many more (Visit the official website to get details about the program) JEE Mains has fixed exam structure and it does not change every year like JEE Advanced, the paper is for 3 hours in which a candidate has to answer 30 multiple choice questions in each of these subjects- Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

Remarks:

I love my college as the way it is, wouldn't change it for anything in the world.

Admission:

I was earlier classed into the pool of NRI students as I had completed my 10th and 12th graduation from abroad. I however did not want to register as an NRI student and wrote the MH-CET which is the state entrance exam and the field under which I chose it was engineering. I managed to attain a good rank and get admission into my required branch and field at Symbiosis Institute of Technology. I attempted the MH-CET exam some time around the beginning of May. I chose the course of Electronics and Telecommunication as it particularly interested me and the main interest in Symbiosis was generated through the fact that one of my cousins had studied there and overall I had heard a lot about Symbiosis especially in the Pune circle. The steps required in this process were i) Application through the Symbiosis Admission Portal ii) Attachment of all relevant documents for verification iii) A counselling session in which all the ranked candidates where invited and offered seats iv) A final verification and admission confirmation

The merit list is announced on the basis of entrance exam score. We were called for counselling and had to deposit the fee as soon as possible in order to reserve the seat.

I had given AIEEE and MHTCET entrance examination. The college is very well known in Maharashtra. I was interested in this course only. This was the only college choice of mine for the course.

Admission:

Admission process was through DTE. CAP rounds were scheduled before which we have to fill our all details and get it verified at ARC centre with original documents. Then fill the option form, and wait for the results. I got selected in cap round after which I confirmed my admission at the college.
