Course Curriculum Overview :

The flagship course is the Masters in Management Studies (MMS) at JBIMS. It was started in 1965, and since then has been updated periodically to meet the needs of the business world. Semester pattern is followed in the MMS course, we have four semesters in which first two semesters are the same for everyone as through this the student gets to strengthen the functional concepts and it helps the students in grooming holistically throughout the MBA course and it helps in making better decision in taking specialization. In the 2nd-year students are allowed to choose their specialization. Specialization offered at JBIMS is Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, and Operations. The faculty to student ratio is 1:5 approx. We have 8 full-time faculties and the rest are visiting faculties who are mostly corporate leaders and are themselves the Alumni of JBIMS. The faculties at JBIMS teach by sharing their experience in the corporate world and this helps in better understanding of the concepts.

Internships Opportunities :

JBIMS offers paid internship opportunities to its students and 100% of the batch get the internship through the institute. The internship happens between April - June for the duration of 8-12 weeks. Many big firms participate in the internship process such as Accenture Strategy, BCG, Aditya Birla Capital, Barclays, Citibank, Goldman Sachs, JPMC, Amazon, HUL, PepsiCo, etc to name a few. Placement Experience :

The placements at JBIMS are great and they can be compared with IIM BLACKI / FMS / XLRI / IIFT / MDI. Due to the small batch size JBIMS is able to place 100% of its batch during the placement week. The sector-wise offers are 38% BFSI & IB, 21% Consulting, 19% Technology & E-Commerce, 9% FMCG & Pharma, 7% Conglomerates & Mfg, and 6% others. Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure for the two years full-time MMS course is around 6 lakhs excluding the mess and hostel charges. JBIMS is known for its ROI compared to the other top B-Schools whose fees are above 15 lakhs. As JBIMS is an autonomous institute under Mumbai University the fees hike per year is around 10-15%. There are various scholarships which students can avail of, the students falling under the economically weaker section and category can avail scholarship and freeship through Maharashtra Government on MahaDBT website. Some scholarships are also provided by the JBIMS Alumni to meritorious students.

Campus Life :

Although JBIMS doesn't have a residential program like IIMs so all the activities are done in the Red building of JBIMS. The institute provides ample networking opportunities with Corporate Leaders by conducting Guest Sessions and various other events. Prayaag is the annual corporate fest that takes place at JBIMS and it is the flagship event of the institute, It happens around the month of February. JBIMS has a wonderful library and has availability of 40000+ books and access to 1000+ journals. The classrooms at JBIMS are well maintained and they are big, clean and air-conditioned. There is a total of 10 committees that are run by students and these committees take care of all the events and happenings of the institute. Some worth mentioning committees are Placement Committee, Alumni Committee, Student Academic Committee, etc. There are also three clubs namely Finance, Marketing, and Operations. These clubs work towards in-depth learning and awareness of the domains among the students.

You will be getting packages of above 6 LPA easily if you get into this college. In my time, the stated average is 14.5 LPA. But the actual average will be around 13 LPA. It's the best option if you don't want to spend too much money to do your MBA or want to start and MBA and do something else on the side, like cracking a better college, cracking government jobs, entrepreneurship, etc.
