- Inflated Average CTC is one of the things that irked me
Course Curriculum Overview :
I wanted a backup option since I was aiming for the top 10 institutes in the country. I wanted to appear for CAT, and hence SIMSREE with its low fees, appeared like a lucrative option. There are about 7 or 8 faculty members in the college. Most of the professors who taught us were visiting faculties, who were CXO's of various large companies. To be honest, it was a very underwhelming experience on the learning front, as I found most of the lectures very monotonous and bland. Term exams are fairly easy to pass, and even though the teaching experience is not that great, the college still has an average CTC of 12LPA, which I think is quite impressive considering the fees it charges.
Internships Opportunities :
I was offered a marketing role, where I was supposed to conduct an internal audit on the relationship managers at ICICI Bank. The stipend offered at our college was 40,000 per month. There are many IIMs where the stipend offered was 85,000 per month. So the difference is very apparent.
Placement Experience :
You will be getting packages of above 6 LPA easily if you get into this college. In my time, the stated average is 14.5 LPA. But the actual average will be around 13 LPA. It's the best option if you don't want to spend too much money to do your MBA or want to start and MBA and do something else on the side, like cracking a better college, cracking government jobs, entrepreneurship, etc.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are Campus placements at SIMSREE which average around 12 LPA. There is a scholarship for reserved students, but none for "Economical Weaker Section" candidates. Ironic. I got placed in ICICI Bank for my internship, with a stipend of 40k per month. The maximum offered was 75k per month.
Campus Life :
There are multiple clubs and committees which take care of all the activities and events that take place. The committees are responsible for everything. Right from your admission, to the final convocation. There are air-conditioned classrooms. The sports events take place at many different places as the college doesn't have any sports infrastructure of its own.
Admission :
The eligibility states that you must have above 50% grades in your undergraduate. The admission process is conducted through the MAH CET, which normally takes place around April every year. The only improvement I would like to see is if the normalisation would be more transparent like CAT, where you get a raw score and your response sheet and then some days later, the scaled score is received.
